It meant a lot to be on Darling Fell, and to bring my boys................
so thanks to everyone for waiting/dragging the ankle biters to the top.
It was a beautiful place to remember daz, with poignant words from Steve.
Nice too to meet/see/be surrounded, by friendly faces.
Thank you Amex for organising a special day.
Great pictures Milli.
I have been trying to think of something to say, but I think these pictures speak for themselves.
Glad you all had a good time.
The cairn is lovely.
Thanks for the photos milli. Lovely to meet you and your family xx
The photos really catch the spirit of what was a really special forum occasion
Many thanks for organising Steve
Like wise OH. :)
Credit for the photos should go to my husband, who also enjoyed the day.
Good work sunnysideup! Well done to the boys for getting up the hill too
It's about time for us to nip to the Dog and Gun for a pint or five before tea
jealous!!!
Thanks for a fabulous XOTF's Steve, we really did have a great time and we had such a laugh in the curry house. Lovely to meet OHW and Hanneke for the first time as well as all the other regulars.
Nice to see Millipede and Sunnysideup with their 2 young boys on the first hill, the lads did so well and it was nice to see them completely worn out in the pub later.
Hope you and Stef enjoy the rest of your stay DT.
Did you have a good run earlier?
Mi Mum's mi Dad Fantastic

the best line from Trim Tab when trev was talking "i can understand a few words but when they are in a sentance i just don't understand"
I can understand every word Trev sez, if tha's naw from Yorkshire Amex, so should thee;)
Sad to have missed it, a special day of remembrance for good friend to all. First Xmas without daz will be hard for those closest to him, thoughts and prayers go out to them. God bless you all, not really religious but if it comforts anyone then it's as good as owt. Be safe, be happy (if possible) and be reet ;)
Really good day/night out on Saturday - a pleasure to meet auld/new friends on't the hills with some moving words for Daz.
Thank you to Amex (can't believe he wasn't forumite of the year :p) for putting it together - loved the way the banter in the pub moved swiftly from friendly joshing between Yorkshire / Lancashire to a full blown Burnley v that small town near Burnley slanging match. Sorry there were very few of us to join you in the Loft Steve S - just a bunch of lightweights really.
Amex next year - you're not thinking of block booking Denton house to prolong the merriment into the wee small hours are you ?
Can you remember your confession Manhar and would you like to share it with the world?
watching with interest
Chill Shaun - it is running related..........and I have told enough people now - not being melodramatric - all will be revealed in due course - I'm of to watch a Dvd.......
Well, my exit from XOTF was a little hasty, unexpected and ended quite dramatically in Hereford A&E...
I wasn't well, as some of you knew... Reason was, transpires now after this mornings operation, that I had a deep hematoma in my left buttock, from severe trauma, sustained during the Isel of Man End2End MTB race. I wasn't aware of it, as on antiinflammatories for my spinal condition, until it decided to go from nothing to a tennis ball in the time span on 12 hours. A GP friend and the Keswick out of ours doctors service bothe adviced a trip to a&e asap, so I decided to drive home while I still could Saturday evening.
Sorry to have missed all the fun :( But I did the right thing, as I was immediately admitted for surgery Sunday morning. Not as urgent as some cases, so wasn't done till this morning. All went well and back home, on my tod, as I missed my flight to Holland this morning :(
Managed to get a friend to collect me from hospital, so that I could be discharged, and he bought me some food too, so I am currently stuffing myself after 24 hours of nil by mouth :w00t:
Happy Christmas everyone, sorry I was so rude to skive off, but think that was a valid reason...
Bring on next year and more Ramazotti! Glad I had some on Darling Fell!
Thanks Amex for being the driving force behind these excellent weekends and Millie, thank your husband for the lovely photo's!
Hope you recover soon, Hann. It was one helluva "will she, won't she" week for you what with banging your knee and the floods so I'm glad you a) got to be part of part of XOTF and b) got timely help.
So sorry you had to dash off but I completely understand why now, anyway nice to meet you albeit very briefly. Hope you're feeling much better after your op and wishing you a very Merry Christmas.
I am glad I at least managed to first evening and the walk to Darling Fell for Daz's memorial!
Oh, Millie, I am using the picture of the cairn with the cap and flowers and lovely view your husband took as my facebook cover if that is ok, let me know if it isn't and I'd take it down again...
