HEPTONSTALL RECCE - 3rd MARCH
SUNDAY 3rd MARCH - HEPTONSTALL RECCE
Anyone up for a recce? Navigation, training, or just for the hell of it - we're doing the usual fast, medium, steady groups.
Meet at the White Lion Pub Heptonstall 08.45 for 09.00 start
All welcome - food and a pint back at the pub at the end
Make sure you bring a map/compass and full body cover just in case.
40 turned up last time so we can expect a decent group.
Watch this thread for more details and responses...

Fast, medium, steady? What about unsteady? I'm in.
Re: HEPTONSTALL RECCE - 3rd MA
Fabbo Andy - I'm heading down your way for my birthday meal at the Pheasant (Birdwoldsley?) today - after a family walk up to Beeston Castle or nearby hill - lovely day forecast
Re: HEPTONSTALL RECCE - 3rd MA
I'm available for the race this year Steve so it's probably a good idea if I make it out on one of your recce runs too. Didn't see you at the trog, did you give it a miss?

Sorry about the delay Mart - just got back from a week in the alps - well done on getting round the beast of the south pennines - I missed Trog with a persistant virus/cold but was marshalling at Cock Hill - was well wrapped up so you would nt have recognised me under the 10 layers/hat/snood/gloves
Will crack on with plans for Sunday 3rd recce this next few days - hope you can still make it???

Hi Trig. Does the White Lion let dogs in? I need to decide whether to bring Merlin with me on Sunday - I fancy a pint afterwards!

No problem with dogs Splatcher - its the runners who bring all the muck in - worth noting that the pub will be open from 08.30 if you want to leave your warm gear there to avoid trekking back to the car

Just a reminder re parking....the local wardens are always hanging about and half the village is restricted...but there's loads of space just up the cobbles....
Head up the cobbled road which passes the through Heptonstall, past the 2 pubs, parking at top of the village, after the school (its just 500 yards walk back down the cobbles to the pub/meeting point) - 08.45 for 09.00 start
Re: HEPTONSTALL RECCE - 3rd MA
I'm still labouring with a healing sprained ankle - so I won't be at the recce. The swelling is down and the bruising is up so it should be back to normal for race day though. :closed:

I had the same problem 2 years ago - I kept turning it for th first few months back - careful how you go...
Any chance you might give use hand directing traffic before the race? We're expecting 150 cars and we have some intersesting parking plans...
