Many runners spotted today...
Normally, I hardly ever see any other fell runners, but today, on Fairfield I saw around 20. I was going anti clockwise so they were all going clockwise
Just people doing a recce, or is there a sudden boom in fell running?
Re: Many runners spotted today
U23/U20 recce - think it's mentioned on junior section
Re: Many runners spotted today
It was the Grasmere Fells and Tarns LDWA today which goes to Fairfield so I'm pretty sure it will have been these people.

Well also just lots of people reccying for the Champs in 3 weeks time, we saw quite a few yesterday too. Not to mention the lost and now found iPhone. You should have see Coledale last year a fortnight before the race, it was a veritable who's who of fell-running!

Were you wearing a blue t-shirt ? There was 3 of us and a dog, saw you at Dove Crag then in the grounds of Rydal Hall at the finish ? Don't know why you were using your compass at Rydal though, were you lost ????? :) We were doing a recce for the race.

Yeah, that was me. A garmin, not a compass though :o I always get lost in the lanes in the valley, not on the fell though ;-) It would be pretty hard to get lost on the Fairfield Horseshoe

Good to hear you getting the recces in Magners.. I wouldn't mind a tour guide, who better than the course record holder?

Is it a permanent route change okmum? I did it 3 years ago and they let us go to the top, I'd heard it'd changed but thought it was due to bad weather.

Not sure Mrs Stagger, never done it before, thoroughly enjoyed the day, weather was amazing, route and views were amazing, climbs and descents were a killer, but pasty and trifle made the pain all worth while
