Have we had a 'Todays Movie' thread before - could only find 'Favourite Movies'??
Anyway... Frost/Nixon on DVD. Been waiting ages for it to come out. Pizza in the oven, wine being chilled. Review later. :)

Just got Defiance today with Daniel Craig.
Picked up Jarhead in Asda last week for £2. Not watched yet, but looking forward to it: I've heard good things.
I watched Quantum Of Solace(James Bond) on Sky. It was as bad as the Bourne saga, with the same dizzying display of camera work, and the usual car and boat chase rubbish.
It goes something like this, Bond gets chased in his car. Stops. Has a chat with M for 5minutes. Then has a scrap. Then has a bang, bang, bang with his gun. Then chases the bad guy around, whilst hung upside down with his foot in a noose. Then he has another calm 5minutes, followed by a chase in a wooden boat. And the needle returns to.......and we all sing.......like before
Shame because Craig is a good actor wasted in a part that has no identity.
P.S Don't know what Emm was going on about!
That's a great tune CL:)

Defiance, a triumph of the human spirit over adversity:cool:
If its all true, great, if not, it's still a good movie;)
Apocalypse Now -Redux
Enyoyed it. The new scenes add a bit of extra flavour but don't really add much to the overall film.
Breakfast at Tiffany's but finished the ironing now so off to bed.
"PERSEPOLIS".
Brilliant animated film! :D
Italian Job remake is on in a few minutes. Will see how it compares.
Football Factory. A bit of mindless violence to prepare me for the battle at Bamford on monday
Started watching re-make of Shaft on friend's tv earlier this evening (mine's no longer in use), not too bad, but a bit stylised :)
Day of the Jackal on ITV4. Brilliant.
Just finished watching the last hour I V+d last night. Don't make 'em like that any more: well crafted, suspenseful, intelligent...(obviously the source material helps).Quote:

Star Trek. Believe the hype (for once). A balls-out fantastic fantasy ride from start to finish, with one glaring exception. Is it just me or is the whole simon pegg/scotty/engine room thing a cringe-making embarrassment? It very nearly ruined the whole movie for me but fortunately the rest is gasp-making brilliance. The Kirk/Spock dynamic? Brilliant! Uhura/Checkov/Sulu? Fab! Capt Pike? A very well wrought re-introduction. Of course, the effects are top notch but that has become expected these days. It is the work put into characterisation, script and lighting that puts this one above a very high bar of expectation.
Go see it in the multiplex.
High School Musical cos im babysitting my niece. Not that im complaining all those young cheerleaders in matching uniforms dancing around. 10 out of 10!!
