Do we know what is happening to the shop? I went past today.
I think they are opening a new shop in bigger premises.
It certainly looked like more than just a decorating job.
yeah I went in a couple of weeks ago and he couldn't serve me - problems with computer apparently - a bit miffed to be honest as still without walsh :o Think he needs to be more transparent with customers and have a notice on door + website or somesuch so we don't waste our time
little rant from a little button :o
I think they are moving over the other side of the road opposite.
thanks for explanation Andy

What - you mean the other side of the road is opposite? Come on.
with all this rain would have hoped you would have slipped off your soap box - judgemental or wot!?
Tautology
absolutely but we aren't writing for examination purposes - where is the human element!
Taut.
When I went in September I think one of the staff said they were using the place opposite as storage and they were going to expand the current shop. Was a while ago so can't remember exactly and plans may have changed since.

That was my understanding of their situation.
The original Pete Blands shop is being expanded by knocking the adjoining wall out into the next door premises, and in the meantime they are operating from a shop opposite, there is a note in the original premises window, I think they hope to be back in there enlarged premises by march the 12th, I think, give them a ring.
think a small extension to shoe area and there using over the road for their stock (think)
Glad I spotted this thread...I'm up there end of this week and plan to pop in to the shop for the usual splurge on kit, so thanks!
I don't normally make comments on the forum as I feel as a retailer it is inappropriate. However it would make sense for me to put a post on about this thread.
We purchased the property next door to our exsisting shop sometime ago and started development work in October 2010. Basically we are knocking both properties into one to give us increased shop and office space (shop floor doubling in size to 1200 sq ft). We have set up a temporary store in our premises opposite. Although the store is not too our usual standards, we still have a good product offering and my staff are only to happy to help in anyway possible. The new store is due to open in mid too late March and a feature on this will appear on the home page of our web site on Sunday (at Carnethy Saturday so Sunday is the quickest I can do it). We would have written a feature earlier, but we were short of a few facts on completion date which have been drawn to our attention this week.
Apologies to Button for been unable to help when you called in. We did lose all electricity, broadband etc for three days and we were unable to do very little during this period (we did not know this was going to happen and could not prempt it). We are fully functional now and customers through the temporary shop seem to be getting everything they need.
Hope this answers any queries.
