Just been checking the CVFR website and notice that this still has date TBA. I know its usually sometime between Boxing Day and New Year's Eve but have any of you Calder Valley members out there got inside information on the date yet?
cheers

I've been wondering the same thing.
The provisional date is the 30th December at 11:00am
please re-check the CVFR site in the next few days to confirm these details as they just depend on the hall availability at present
Cheers Ben.
Hoping to get there as much preferable to competing against 700+ runners in the other CC (Chevin Chase) on Boxing Day.
MT
Why not do both? There are 4 days to recover. Then the second CC will be nice little warm-up for the Auld Lang Syne, followed by the Giant's Tooth. That should leave you in great shape for Ovenden.:D
...I wish!!! - after my injury problems I'm being over-cautious for once- 1 race every 4 week (approx) until Spring, so just Gravy Pud & this in December.
Anyway, now confirmed as 30 December.
If only I could I'd be running up that hill with no problems....
'Breathing' is the key. Especially on the climb up to Wuthering Heights.
Good to see Manhar at the Canter today. A great little race on a sneaky route of Karl Gray's that links together a variety of woodland trails and field tracks.
Enough mud to raise a smile and enough ascent to raise a slight grimace.
Were any other forumites in attendance? If so, sorry to have missed you.
Forgot to mention that Stringman was there too. (I think of him as a clubmate rather than a forumite.) Sorry Stringman!
...bet the ascent up the steps etc. after the stream crossing at top end of Jagger Park woods was luvly and muddy today:) .
Shame I couldn't make it, think I'll have to stop starting new threads in the races sections if injury (or recovering from) is going to stop me running on the day:(
No, you only have to refrain from starting new threads if it's your fingers that are injured; unless of course you can type with your nose, in which case you don't even need to stop then.
All the same, I hope that you get over your injuries and get yourself running up the hill again in 2008.
I was out of action for 2 years in the mid nineties, hobbling around with constant ankle pain, thinking I'd never run again, so I can empathise.
Bit sad new years eve but any results anywhere?
Haven't seen any yet, but sooner or later they should appear here:

Happy New Year!
Info for this has just come up on the CV site.

Always a nice winter run to make room for another couple of pints.
That looks good....very good value. Is there a map/route description somewhere or is it fairly obvious where to go on the day?
Is this the one at Shelf through the woods and fields?
The Coley Canter is on 27th December this year.
Its the credit crunch version again: just 50p entry, no prizes. :)
Further details on www.cvfr.co.uk
cracking little race,highly recomended.
Going to use this as a nice little kick start back into running after the indulges of christmas.50p int bad either:)
Its probably a bit late to tell you all this, but I've just had an email from Karl:
Coley Canter is OFF due to the amount of ice on the tracks.
Extremely icy and dangerous down that lane where the race starts, so no grumbles at all about the race being officially cancelled. We ran round the course anyway, had a good trip round, very carefully over the icy parts.
Is this race likely to be run this year? (nothing on CVFR site yet)
Cheers
MT
Karl Gray is putting the Coley Canter on again (ice permitting!) - Wed 29th Dec at 11am.
Otherwise same details as last year: http://www.cvfr.co.uk/Races/Other/Co...canterhome.htm
That web page should be updated at some point with this year's date.
Only 50p entry. No prizes.
Is anyone else doing this race next week? It's a lovely run on trails and woodland paths, lets hope the ice and snow don't spoil things again.
Don't forget this race tomorrow!
Any news on the race tomorrow? Definitely on?
Still on.
But becareful in some places.
COLEY CANTER CANCELLED
Due to the thaw (you can't win!!!!) some of the hard packed snow has turned to bottle ice on one of the main tracks so the organiser has had no choice but to cancel. Please spread the word to save anyone an unnecessary journey. Thanks.
Weather permitting, back after a 2 year absence due to ice and snow.
