Are these not a straight rip-off of Keen Kanyons? (or a respectful emulation:confused:)
Have a look and see what you think?

Interesting. Follow DT's original link but play the Inov-8 shoes video in the bottom right hand corner instead. Is Wayne trying to tell us something 31 seconds into the video? A range of what ?
mmm. Outsoles i think but its a close call!!
...or is it our souls
Are they light weight breathable and ideal for recovery by any chance .
They look like ideal holiday/beach shoes . I'm going away in 4 weeks , I wonder if they'll be out in time
They look interesting.....i dont know if im barking up the wrong tree here...but are they basically for going barefoot but with just abit of protection...Whats the price?
I watched the other one after it....that massive poster showing someone's leg/foot running with the studs on the bottom of their feet is amazing....see it in the fell runner every time and still love to see it......mr Inov Inside can you actually purchase it as a poster?....my wall has a space and it would look amazing! ;)
Cheers 8
Of course I would happily "test" a prototype pair for Inov8 and asses their durability while lying around doing bugger all apart from sipping the odd beer by the pool for a couple of weeks . :D
Or
Buy a pair :)
I'm guessing these weren't the minimalist shoes you've been very secretive about ? When are they out ? 2010 going to be a big year for Inov8 and new designs .
No these aren't the minimalist shoes I have hinted about:D
Yup lots happening in 2010
*All fell shoes sticky rubber
* New OROCs
*New 1 arrow shoes
*New Mudclaw 270
*New Roclite 319
*New Kids X-Talon 165
*New Recolites
*New Griproc the Worlds lightest approach shoe
*New Roclite 400 the Worlds lightest leather GTX boot
* New..........:eek:
*New..........
Yup lots happening
I'd have thought you'd got plenty of the world's lightest approach shoes already Insider. Roclite 315 is a much better shoe than likes of Merrell and the major walking brands have ;)
Will the 270s look alot better than they do now? :)
Tup
The Griproc is a shoe designed primarily for rock climbers/ boulderers. A mate of mine held the record for running & soloing( climbing) the Skye Ridge. He tested the Griproc.
It has sticky rubber sole & a internal "edging plate " for standing on weeeee knobbly bits when climbing.
Hey you don't have to be a rock climber to use ,them they will in someway help you stay up right if you just want to wear them down the pub.......though that's not a promise...hic:D
Inov8-insider the new Roclite 319 will be a boot?
Inov 8 Insider - are you able to give me any idea when the F Lite 190 will be in the shops? I was going to get the F Lite 230 but will wait if the 190's are coming out soon
Thanks
No offence II...but isnt the recolite a bit of a ploy to trail runners and the like...the sort of people who read Runners World
Thanks
If you look on the Inov8 website Tom there's 5 out and out fell shoes and a hell of a lot of trail shoes and why not?
It's debatable that likes of Roclite 285 is more revolutionary than x-talon :)
If you pick up RW it's full of off-road running events and their most recent race of the year list makes interesting reading! ;)
I worry about Runners World.....laxst year it recommended Jura...now do they not see the strain that it must place on organisers if you have fun runners on serious fell courses. But anyway back to the point, i dont understand Inov8 because their whole philosophy goes against according to their proportion of trail shoes their target audience..and lets be honest at the end of the day, trail shoe wise Salomon will win hands down.
Then again that is only me and Inov8 have peed me off recently
Turbo
I think you may well be missing the point.
If you go to most if not all the "specialist" running stores not one of them sell a sandal or similar. We were asked for this product.....it's better than what is currently available from the outdoor or big sports brands.
But hey it's all about choice.
We specialise in fellrunning, that's the sport we do but that's not to say that folks who want to run off road or who go walking/climbing shouldn't be a inov-8 customer.
Give over Turbo.
Do you know any other footwear company that offers such a range of " fellrunning" shoes?
Do other brands have 5 different fell models?
Do they have 3 different sole patterns?
Do they have different rubber compounds?
Do they offer different levels of cushioning?
Do they offer 10 models of "Trail" shoes that can and are used by fellrunners?
Just because you and I are fellrunners it doesn't mean other runners shouldn't benefit from inov-8's fit, grip etc.
As a footnote I was involved with ETA the specialist fellrunning brand, we had 2 specific fell shoes & 2 trail. Unfortunately even though they specialised the fellrunning Market alone was not big enough to support them and it folded.
Why do you think the likes of your favourite brand only have one shoe?
And why do you think that their sponsored runners choose inov-8 come race day?
I think there is a market for a shoe like this. At the 3 ultras I did last year there were a number of top runners, Martin Indge, Martin Beale amongst others who wear crocs before and after the race as a shoe just to let the feet breath and recover.
I think £60 is a bit steep though for a shoe that doesn't get any abuse
I see no reason why Inov8 shouldn't try to dominate as many markets as possible . After all Fell Running (although we all love it) is a small market . Trail running and road running are masive in the rest of the world . That is were Inov8 will make the money if they can get into those markets on an international level . And if they make money there , they will be able to continue making shoes for us .
£60 for a pair of sandals ? Well , you probably get what you pay for .
