Cracoe village hall in the Dales is excellent - we sent there for a family party last year. Really good.
Went to a cracking wedding reception in The Hawkshead Brewery Beer Hall in Staveley late last year.
Next door to Wilf's with a door connecting the two, so that you can get food through from Wilf's and beer straight from the Brewery. Live music and dancing and plenty to do on the day before (or the day after:eek:)

You can't get married anywhere in England, the venue has to have a license. But there's a website somewhere with all venues that have a license.Quote:

As somebody else has mentioned the venue has to have a wedding licence, but most good and interesting places would have gone down that route.

I got married at Armathwaite Hall at the edge of Bassenthwaite Lake four years ago. It really is a great venue the staff couldn't have been more helpful, catering was top class etc. We received very positive feedback regarding the venue from all our geusts and to be honest I can't remember a single negative comment. It's not the cheapest of places but we reckon it was great value for money compared with other similar venues.:)

We are going to have a look at a few venues around lancashire and pop upto the lakes also over the coming months. Please keep them coming,
It will be a reasonably big wedding about 120 day/170 night.
Also considering looking for a Marquee and a freindly farmer. Does anyone know were the Three Peaks or Borrowdale Marquees go when they are out of use.:D

We got married at the Inn on the lake in Glenriding a couple of years ago, could n't fault it. Excellent food and facilties and the sun shone all day.
Not the cheapest option but it was nt as expensive as we thought it might be. I think its the most popular place to get married in the lakes so it gets booked up early.
