FRA 40th Anniversary Mag
Thanks FRA.
"Fell Runner plus" just came through my letter box. Hit the matt with a thud. Shame I won't be able to read it till I get home, much, later. I won't spoil the surprise but it's got a few extra bits in.
Thanks again everybody at the FRA

Re: FRA 40th Anniversary Mag
I heard the postman drop it in the porch from upstairs - must have been a weight off his back!
-
Re: FRA 40th Anniversary Mag
it's here. I had forgotten all about it. What a nice surprise! Postie was very late, I'd like to think it's because of all the copies he's delivering down our street ..but I suspect not :D
Looks like a bumper edition too. My thanks to all involved in this.

Re: FRA 40th Anniversary Mag
The interesting thing about the FRA 40th Anniversary Mag is the interviews from 1970 with Jeff Norman, Joss Naylor, Alan Heaton and Dave Cannon. One of the questions was:-
"Which types of footwear do you consider most suitable for fell running?".
Joss's answer was:-
"I build my own starting with a pair of football boots, then I put a pair of hockey boot tops on them for ankle support"
How things have changed!

Did you know my middle name is 'lucky' :)?
I'm on the front of the 40th anni issue at the Downham race (that seems a very long time ago :o), and also in the main mag charging round Langdale.

Re: FRA 40th Anniversary Mag

Re: FRA 40th Anniversary Mag
After a build up like this over the last two days that postman had better have delivered mine by the time I get home tonight!;)
-
Re: FRA 40th Anniversary Mag
It's agony reading all this. I work away during the week and know it's sat at home amongst the bills...

I usually seem to get mine later, and my surname is late in the alphabet, so I suspect you're right there, Mr Aardvark :( ;)
Looking forward to seeing mine through the door sometime soon though :D

If you shot the postmen you cannot be called Aardvark. We all know Aardvark never hurt anyone!

Tell that to the ants.
Although on the plus side, they'd also get their copy fairly early...
