I guess everyone is doing Duddon this weekend with it being and B/E championship race.
Well I'm having a blast round Pen-y-Ghent instead so I hope I will see someone there to race ?

Had planned to do this but am saving miself for Blencathra midweeker next Wed. Don't think the hamstring would survive Pen Y Ghent and be OK for Wed unfortunately. Enjoy it and have a gud un.
I'm also planning Blencathra (after Waughs Well on Tuesday ~ must be mad) so I'll watch out for you. Whilst I've never done it before I don't think there's usually a big entry for that one.
No -one else doing Pen-y-ghent ????.......looks like I might win it then!
there's a shop on the way to the race stick - the coop, at hellifield no need to go all the way to thirsk!
i'm going (on the train) and looking forward to it (both the train and the race and especially the teas after!)
Mr lurker and myself are planning to be there....we were thwarted by the heat last year......but think we'll be OK tomorrow.
Well i look out for you both lurking somewhere! - I remeber you from 'race you to the summit' last year but didnt recognise you last week at cadar idris - ill keep my eyes peeled tomorrow!
It's gonna be a warm one.........21 degrees outside already at 09.27hrs. I don't thinkthere's any chance of hail stones the size of golf balls like we had about 10 years ago. I was bruised for days afterwards!
Be warned - the Darwen Dashers film crew will be in attendance! :)
its was a great day out today, nice talking to all the forumy folk and penyghent is a lovely run especialy on a day as warm and dry as today, but i feel so dreadful about the chap that died in wales doing the same sport as we did today. Its awful.

results are here!
Can't find a thread on this race. Is nobody doing it? Chuff me, i'll win it then:eek: If 2 other people turn up i'll come 3rd. Will report back later;)
Hard Luck
It is a race Preston Harriers have chosen for their club champs so there will be a few of us at least!
And a CVFR club champs race...
... and the Yorkshire championship race, too !
That means lots of people in front of me. As long as I can keep Weetabix Power within visible distance (with or without binoculars) that will be enough for me, since he's threatening to runaway with our club vets title this year. :)
First back, first Fell Pony that is, only Fell Pony i think, so i was last as well:cool: Cracking race, thanks Settle Harriers and marshals. Weather stayed fine, bit humid, but you could feel the temperature drop at the summit. Good descent back with a bit of a sting in the tail at Whitber Hill, looked worse than it was from a distance. Bumped into my old Physical Training Instructor from my TA days, used to run it every year and once came third. Must be approaching 70 now and still looked as fit as he used to. All in all a good day out, hope me legs are up to the Hebden Bridge tommorow, a few leg loosening cider's required now;)
ah, the penny's just dropped, from your avatar I thought you were the guy at the back in the picture but obviously not.
Think I was talking to you pre and post race and finished a few secs behind you. Also saw you camping at duddon last week.
Anyways, good to meet you and good luck with the run down south next week (assuming you are the bloke I was talking to eh).
I hope to have a little left to get me around ennerdale next weekend, argh!

Kettlewell Is Next Week!!!!!
Any results anywhere for this race yet?
It's not fair, last year 1st V60 at P-Y-G did 72 minutes, I am thinking "wow" I can beat that, but, they all come out of the woodwork, 2 V60 champs plus some other pilchard, did 70 minutes and got 4th V60.
Come on the Forum to check the race and find a WATTO, can't be two of them?, the one I know is a quiet grey haired man at UWFR, are you "He"? or are you the son of Watto.
