As ever the best policy is to walk the courses before the start.
Ive been told the U18s do the same course as the seniors which is 5m 1200ft it does say in the fra fixture book U18s run with seniors, so the u16s do not run together with the u18s for once ? Guess it will be quite a long race for some with the record being at 36mins and not being touched since 2006 the Female record is 42 mins that was set in 2004 so i guess some people will be out for 50mins+Quote:

Well you live and learn I didnt even know there wasa Lonsdale fell Runners and I used to live in Lancaster I have emaile dthe person listed in FRA calender but as yet havent heard anything if/when I do you'll be the first to know and assume others will do the same.

Any idea of how to get there by public transport from Manchester
You'll have to get in to Lancaster.
From there it's just over 3 miles from the centre. Not sure if there's a regular bus out to Quernmore or not.
Train from Manchester to Bolton, then Bolton to Lancaster. Then walk the rest? ;)Quote:

A few of us will be assisting the RO to flag the courses, starting at 6.00 pm this Friday, 18th June; from 100 yards N.E. of Quernmore cross-roads, NGR 520590.
Please park on the left, SW of the cross-roads.
Noted the race start times show grouping.
Are they likely to be staggered like at Viking with a couple of minutes between each of the grouped ages?
Excellent they look challenging in both distance and height. Lecky you might want to check the U12 distance though as its suggesting it exceeds the 2 mile max. Whats the terrain like under foot?
It's not so bad at all - the terrain gets more challenging for the U14 upwards. There's climbing but mostly steep fields for the U8 - U12s - a bit like the lower reaches of Coiners (don't tell the lads)Quote:

The U18 should really enjoy themselves. I've known CFR members come down to do the Senior event and comment "Great little event, a bit of everything!" Around the summit is particularly rough and rocky - really ankle cropping stuff.

Any news and views on todays race?
A good day from a BBH - we had 2 wins and a 4th for the Club Champs so hopefully that will extend our lead. I'm not sure of the results yet though, it was all done on the sticker system so may take a day or two to get on line. I didn't see Felljunior there today either - at least you can sometimes get the finishing positions quickly from his side.Quote:
