Someone please explain the away and home games of tonights semi final to my girlfriend. We were watching the game and she just could not understand how it siad 2-0 to Milan and 4-3 agg. No matter how much I explained it she wasnt getting it. I went on to explain that even if Man U got it back to 4-4 Mila would stil win but then I gave up and got back on with eating my chicken bhuna!!!!
LOL Donna away goals count double in european matches so Milan had 2 from the game at old trafford so when they went 2 nil up at home tonight Man u needed to score 2 without milan scoring again to go through ;)Quote:

I've had nothing but chat from scum fans all day about the Utd - Liverpool final, as if it was a foregone conclusion.
I hope they've learned a lesson???
Lets just hope the scum, don't decide to punish the Mighty Blues on Saturday. Let's all hope for City, to give them(utd) a kicking, to make the premiership exciting to the final game of the season. (plus city need at least 2 goals at home to not go into the record books as the lowest home goal's scored in season);)

Liverpool shirts everywhere in Leeds today.
And all my friends couldn't understand why I wasn't backing Liverpool (or Chelsea - just hoped they kicked hell out of each other) when they're my 'hometown' team.
For these people football doesn't exist beyond the champions league, or if they're clever, the Premiership.
Anyway, I might have a nice quiet stroll around Liverpool on the day of the final. Given the 5 million who claim to have been in Turkey, it should be quiet...

Dont panic too much Morecambe have a record of playing well and losing in the play offs. Lost in extra time to Hereford last year and on pens to Dagenham 4 years ago.

Not much to report from last night. The game was played at 100mph with little quality on view. Morecambe seemed to set their stall out for a draw. A few missed chances for York and only one clear cut chance for Morecambe when Curtis put it over the bar.Quote:

Morecambe 2 York City 1. Just back after stopping off for a few celebratory lagers on the way home. Another mediocre match this evening but i suppose the result is all that matters at this stage of the season.
The turning point was the penalty when Morecambe's keeper Steve Drench clattered Donaldson to give away the penalty. Could easily have been a red card but as he had dislocated his elbow in the challenge and was being carted off on a stretcher the ref must have taken pity on him. If we had gone down to ten men as well as a goal down it could have been all over.
Not sure what the York keeper was doing so far off his line when Curtis equalised just before half time

Cant say i was too impressed with the way the local police welcomed any coach travellers from York yesterday. They were all held at Forton services on the M6 then brought into Morecambe with a police escort and herded straight into the ground.
Having been on the receiving end of 2 dodgy refereeing descions which cost us the play off match against Hereford last year i know how you feel.
