I'm planning an attempt at the JNC and at 50 ive got to complete in under 12 hours.
To stand any chance, i'm going to have get the route and lines spot on.
Can any one offer any advice on lines/route choices etc.

Date is set for 4th September. To give me best chance though I am going to be flexible on the date. Ive been extending long runs over the last 6 weeks. Went across section one solo in bad weather 2 weeks ago and managed to get across to Kirkstone pass in 2hrs 40.
Im up to the lakes again this weekend and will be out early - Saturday and Sunday. will you be about?
:wink:Good stuff.
I'm not sure what's happening this weekend.
Am in Scotland at the moment giving my Cup Team some secret training for Dollar;)
All set for a 7am start this Saturday ( 4th September) Give me a shout if you see me out on the fells. My last training run was last weekend, a leisurely 8hrs 45mins across the .Welsh 3,000s
Fitness is at a good level, im just hoping I can run fast enough to get across in 11 hours 59mins 59 seconds.... Im raising money for Patterdale Mountain Rescue

Too late for me to wish you good luck, Dale, but hope you achieve the sub-12 and look forward to hearing how you got on...
Hello Moorlander.
Was that you I met on the summit of Steel Fell at about 11.50 today?
Hope you made it - should be down at Greendale by now.
just to update, dale managed to finish his jnc in 11 hrs 47 mins.
i was involved in legs 1 & 2 and couldn't keep up from 1/2 way over leg 2 he was going so strong.
fantastic effort. this has got to tougher than the bob graham for v50's.
josh & his wife were waiting at the finish for them too. it doesn't get any better.
well done again.
jonathan.
Well done Moorlander.
There is no slack in the schedule for the V50s - way too quick for me!
One more brilliant effort in a summer of success.
Well done Dale.
Well done Dale:thumbup:
Good effort Dale, see you at the dinner!
I was at Kirkstone to see Dale come in there, he had made Jonathon work for his money on leg 1,
Ant then joined Dale and Jon (glutton for punishment) for leg 2.
Myself Simon (Dawsy) Denise (Dales partner) and Spyke made our way to Dunmail via Ambleside for sarnies. I went up onto Seat Sandal to cheer them on, only Dale and Ant at this point still going like a steam train, Jonathon had took a tumble and decided to miss Sandal out.
When Dale left Dunmail with Simon and Spyke he was 15mins up on his 11hr 59min schedule and looking strong.
Denise and I went around to Seathwaite and walked up to Styhead to meet them with water and food.
At this point Dale had gone through two sticky patches and had lost his 15 mins buffer.
As I joined them he was back on track power wise and he stormed up Great Gable,Kirk Fell and Pillar making up another 11mins , he stayed with this all the way over Stoat fell, Steeple and Haycock, Seatallen was a hard slog for Dale but dug deep, he went up Middlefell knowing he just had to keep the same pace going until the end , Denise had walked up from Greendale and met us for the last downhill of the day. Dale finished up with 11hrs 47 mins a great effort. The icing on the cake was Joss and his wife Mary waiting on Greendale bridge to greet him. Even better, Denise was there with the car to transport 4 sweaty aging veteran athletes back to their caravan for copius amounts of tea and Staffordshire oatcakes with cheese ,,,,,,,,lovely.
Another great day out on the fells, in excellent weather. :w00t::w00t::w00t:
Very, very well done Dale ! Really good effort - well done you ! Are you going to write an account of it ? Would like to read it if so. Many congrats and wish I could have been there. Pete
Fantastic.
Well Done.
Very well done Dale, what a great achievement and how marvellous to be greeted by Joss and Mary.
Andy.
Cracking run Dale, sounds like you got your own back on Jonathan too ;-). What a great result!
Excellent stuff, Dale - well done. That's about 15 minutes faster than me! I know just how tough it is.
YAHOOOOOO
Well done Dale a V50 JNC is really tough.
Good one Dale, well done mate
Cracking run Dale. Clearly didn't lose your compass on Steel Fell! ;-)
Forgot to mention, Dale and Denise are now on holiday at the lakes for two weeks and probably will not be near a pc......... I doubt he will be putting his feet up! He is in the Mountain trial this weekend! Then who knows maybe the Three Shires week after....
:thumbup:Yes a sublime run indeed Dale,
A great day and a great occassion all around. Will hopefully catch up with thee at the LDMT for more fun on the fells.
O yes forgot to say I went back up Seat Sandal and found your drinks bottle! So all the more reason to say all's well that ends well; especially with Oatcakes and cheese in the mix.
:D
