Collie pups for rehoming

Our rescue dog has had her unplanned pups, so we have 7 for rehoming. 5 bitches, one dog, one male has now found a home.

We are based in Nant Peris, and are asking for a £50 donation for each dog to cover the vets and other costs so far.

I'd love to say they are nice, but they are evil, ankle biting, blood sucking creatures that have destroyed our house. Poor mum has been sucked dry by them.

It'd be great to see them all go to active homes.

Fell running for puppies

We started Bella running, light runs at 6 months. Which most say is too young. But by 8 months she was easily running most routes we did, and by 10 months was breazing through 3 hr runs. But we did chose her routes carefully, so nothing too steep or rocky, or hard terrain, didn't let her jump styles (she does now). But if you can walk a dog for 2 hours off the lead, then what's the difference with running off road for an hour. Ours know what's a walk, when they can play, pester us to throw things, and when its a run when they leave us alkoe and do their own thing until a play time towards the end. Ours HATE road running too, even a short section is met by Bella hanging back 20 yards behind you with a little sulky face, as soon as you go on to a path she shoots off happy again.

Bump, come on only one gone so far. The house is starting to stink of puppy shit!

I'll ask OH!! No promises - already have a 3 year old collie cross but think he really needs a friend??? Do you have any bitches left?

5 Bitches, 2 mainly back ones, one that looks like a pig due to a totally white collar, and two with white noses with black spots.

Once our web starts working at home we'll put portraits on the blog of each pup.

They are very sociable and love playing with other dogs.

Little Black Paws has just found a home. Kind of pleased, but that was the one I wanted noone to have so I could justify keeping her, she's lovely. She's going to a couple who recently lost their collie, so really pleased she's found a good home.

We've also renamed Jabba, now 'Jabba the Pup' after a suggestion by my wifes physio.

i really wish i could iain , but my heart tells me no
i just so want a companion to run aound the hills with and stuff , it would be ideal here , not many other dogs about on my runs.
but my work schedule doesnt permit , ive hummed and arrred for years but a dog is a very big commitment and ive no experience with them
i asked amandas mum last nite about training and stuffas she has had 6x labradors and says it a very big amount of your time .

i wish i could take one mate but im just not cut out to train a dog up:(

No worries, Collies are demanding, so far 2 have gone and we've had interest from a few more.

Training's easy, just time consuming, basically just spend time with them and more time, as long as they feel accepted and get their behaviour reinforced they are fine. Saying that ours are unruly. They won't chase sheep, come back to the call, they sit and offer a paw for food, and that's about as far as I've ever got in 20 years with dogs, but really that's enough.

So wish I could take one too Saz/Iain. I lost my collie cross in 1999 when he was 14. When my wife I split up he came with me. Don't take the mickey folk but I was with my dog longer than I've been with any lady. I got together with another lady and we acquired a cocker. He "left" when she deserted me and he died 3 years ago...a year after he was taken away. I've tried all evening to persaude Mrs Stick but despite having allies in the step-kids, she's scared of dogs (:eek: that wasn't on the CV when I interviewed her!) so I can sort of understand her hesitation...but like Daz, I'm away at work a long time so poor little creature wouldn't have the best of support.

They look so first class...despite your "evil" tag! Hope they all get home's they deserve.

They are behaving today. They've finally stopped attacking mum for Milk as she's stopped feeding. Her stomach was a mess last week. She did well to feed 7 pups for 5 weeks, even the vet thought she was too skinny after being abandoned to cope that long. We've tried to fatten her up, but getting weight on an active collie isn't easy.

We still keep losing pups though, I've lost count the number of times I count to 7 in a day. When tired they like to burrow off on their own into clothing, coast or bedding.

Baby Fly, Molly (formerly Little Black Paws) and Thorn have no found homes.

2 more strongly interested, so looking good so far.

ah yes Stagger, but I am very tidy and my trainers aren't left laying around the house!!:rolleyes: same can't be said for the rest of the family though!!:eek:

They do all chew shoes, and abslutely anything else (the most painful is when the bite your ankle bone), but at the moment they seem to favour mens walshes over ladies innov8's which is rather annoying. The pre run warm up is trying to work out where your other trainer has been dragged off to, normally under the table.

I'm really not an animal fan but have always wanted a collie but I only live in an apartment and am out most of the day so wouldn't be fair! :(

I know - demanding little things! I'm lucky though as am home all day - apart from when shopping and running but at least one of those activities she can do with me!

I guess i'll have to do the shopping online for a few weeks now!!:rolleyes:

They 'may' be all gone. we have enough people definately interested at the moment, so we'll have to see.

Jus gotto wait and see, we've finally had some interest in Jabba.

It's now looking like we don't 'have' to keep a pup :-(

Carol was suggested, Gloria, I quite liked debbie but we have friends called dave and debbie so I guess they may take it personally:eek:

Franks a good name Dave was going to be either Dave or Phil:D

I quite like Maisie, but it doesn't go well with Dave, what about Sue?

Have you thought of the implications if your puppy is called after a human female name?

Imagine the mayhem you will create if a friend (or your mother) rings and you have to say that your husband has gone out for a walk with the bitch Tracy or Sue:eek: :eek:

Only similar to me yelling DAVE at the top of my lungs when he dissapears over the heather and tussocks!! If fact everyone on the club run was joining in with me last night:o

Does raise a few eyebrows but I think they should have a 'proper' name as oppose to some 'lager' or other:rolleyes:
