Was looking for something a bit cheaper but if it is really good I might save a bit longer, really need something for light and fast in the UK in summer and in India in the monsoon - and maybe for winter but only low level stuff.
Have you got the name right? I googled Montane Minimus Shell but nothing came up, except many other options from Montane.

Re: Montane Minimus Shell
Confusing care instructions: "Never tumble dry" - later it says:" if necessary tumble dry on cool setting" -doesn't exactly give you confidence .....
Re: Montane Minimus Shell
Why would anyone want to tumble dry a waterproof anyway?
Re: Montane Minimus Shell
this looks pretty similar to the Marmot Mica - a touch heavier I think, and £30 more but with the pocket in a better place

Most reproofing products require you to tumbledry after washing to reseal the jacket.
I use grangers and I find it makes a big difference when you use the dryer.

Do you know if is packs down small enough for a bumbag?
Shame they don't offer home delivery on this!
Does anyone have a Montane DT Atomic stretch...does that pack down small?
Re: Montane Minimus Shell

You mean I'd have to sacrifice my backup emergency apple just to fit this waterproof in my bumbag? Madness. I know what I'd rather have with me in the event of an emergency.
Re: Montane Minimus Shell
Yes indeed.
Its always good to be able to practise you archery skills.
I think if you can shoot an arrow with accuracy then you can keep yourself going with mountain hare, or grouse for any length of time
Re: Montane Minimus Shell
Has anyone any actual experience of this piece of kit yet?
Re: Montane Minimus Shell
Since I got it we've seen next to no rain and its been very warm, no rain even when I was in the Lakes.
Fit is a little on the tight side (or maybe I could do with losing a bit more) but still comfortable. No idea how it performs in the rain but it keeps the wind off nicely and packs down small so am happy so far. The hood does bounce about a little when rolled up but nothing too bad. Still, I'll have to wait for the summer proper to test it out in the wet.
