Yeah it starts in Bradwell and then climbs and descends a bit before finishing in Bradwell :P
Daz, My memory is dreadful and it's a few years since I've done this one but here goes:
Starts at a playing field next to the road at the Northern tip of the village, follows the road through the village and branches left up some side streets.
A path is followed up a steep climb to the top of Bradwell Edge. From here the race crosses pasture and open moorland until it picks up a rough stony track with
a longish descent towards Brough. A sharp left turn and a narrow path leads to a farm and another stoney track which turns into a concrete road leading back to
the playing field.
The terrain underfoot is mainly grass and rough tracks, very similar in nature to the Stoney Middleton race last Thursday
Good luck
Info much appreciated
Welll done to Alan and his team for organising this last night. great race, faster pace than most i've done but quite pleased with 20th. I wonder why Stuart was not running last night but took his place in cheering the rest of us on?
Super little race. Was a bit surprised by the lightning quick start but managed to hold onto the coat tails of the front pack long enough to get a decent position on the first climb and hold it together from there. Was pleased with 15th in the end, although I found myself wussing a bit on the last descent which is not like me - injury mental hangover?!
Had the pleasure of properly meeting Daz H and also Mrs Noel post race. Very nice to meet you.
Thanks to the organisers and marshalls for a great event. Male course record went I think...
I did this last year as my first ever fell run and returned last night to see if it was any easier - it wasn't the ascent and final descent as hard as I remember. Still a lovely race, friendly and nice to see the locals cheering us on during that initial sprint along the road. Like simgreen I struggle with the first part of that final descent - just a bit too steep, but managed to knock 2m off my time from last year and came home in 39m.
Where will the actual results be posted? Anyone know?
Ah, so it was you. Mrs Noel said she'd met Daz H and was talking to mystery tall, young dark peaker. Perhaps I'm being a bit harsh on you here Simon, but I wouldn't have called you tall. :o
Anyway, she seemed to have enjoyed both the race and the post-match banter.
Nice one on finishing 15th.

Yes good to me you mate and nice to meet Mrs Noel. Im sure she won the race ?.
It was a very fast start to those steps in the village. Perfect running conditions mind. I enjoyed the route and loved the steep uneven descent and did my usual leap and clear the cattle grid.
Mrs Noel and myself were heavily outnumbered by the pesky dark peakers but we did well
Noel I twigged last night who you are. We must have had a few battles in races ?.
So a special well done to Mrs Noel, brilliant effort
For PJAZ (and everyone else!), results are now up here: http://www.fellrunner.org.uk/results.php?id=346
I did this last week....my first fell run. Not kidding on the fast start & that hill....jeeeeeeeez? Loved the decent though:D
Oh & I cocked up on my time. Nobody told me to keep going,so stopped just onto the field:thunbdown:. Stood about & then someone told me to run round, so I did. My clock said 46.40, so am going by that but at least I wasn't last :D. Am going to try the Taddington one that I got a flyer for next, unless there's another one close that's before that?
Results here if no ones added a link...

Hi Betty, welcome to the forum.
If you are looking for a similar type of race, the next 'local' one in the FRA calendar is Ricky's Race at Darley Bridge on the 12th. After that its the next Trunce at Oxspring on the 16th (highly recommended!). I'll def be at the Trunce, bringing a couple of Trunce first timers with me too :)
Hi Simon...thanks for that...what time does it start & where do you meet? Oh my nicknames Betty but I'm Liz really:)
Trunce kicks off at 6.45 pm from the playing fields at Oxspring next to the pub. Only 4.25 miles, 550ft. Good and fast with some fun river crossings...If you search for the Trunce thread on here then you'll get lots of info and pictures.
I think I've seen some...people looked like they were floating away on one shot?:w00t:
:D That'll be it... great picture of Rob Little getting some proper air near the end of the thread at the moment.
Three or four races ago Rob won the race wearing SANDALS :w00t:. Hence the comment on the photo. As you can probably tell, he's not half bad
Sandals? Madness lol
Anyone give me a good idea on what course is like
I will have them both if you have them please
Register in the recreation field but the race starts on the main road in Bradwell. Very fast first three quarters of a mile or so on flat road, up some stone steps and then on to the trail for the one big climb up onto Bradwell Edge. Once you've topped out it's fairly steady running on track and across moorland paths. Views off to the right are stunning but don't stare for too long...start the descent by turning right down the gentleish gravel track then hard left and steep descent down tussocky field/moorland. Back into the recreation field and a quick half a lap or so before crashing through the finishing funnel.
Very fast and furious, lots of fun. I ran it last year in NB840s in similar conditions and they coped fine. I'll be there if I can get away from work in time.
sounds good to me,im on my way
Thanks
I wasn't aware that this was a "Harriers vs Cyclist" event???

More to follow....
Great race, if a tad warm.
13th, and only got beaten by a single V40 and single V50. (Boyle and Minshull... I shall have the better of you one day!)
Here's the write up for you to peruse in your lunch break. http://globaltherapies.blogspot.com/...fell-race.html

If you're not there it probably means you took the long way back just before the finish!
can't see your pics dominion?
Try again.
I did this for the second time & boy was it hot. Back runner as always but beat last years time by almost 4 mins
Should have stuck to taking photos.... Great race that shows exactly how unfit I've got!
Hi All,
Bradwell Fell Race next Tuesday. Look forward to seeing many of you there.
Hopefully the slight hiccup in moving between organisers has been now ironed out, and results will get out shortly after the race. If any current trophy winners out there aren't coming over on Tuesday, it would be great if they could send the cups back with someone else, at least get in touch. Cheers for now, and see you for a blast on Tuesday evening...
Hoping to do this one too - quite new to all this, will be my 5th fell race. For the last couple, I've had a simple target of finishing ahead of 10% of the field. Might need to revise this though as previous results show this to be quite a fast race...and I'm not very fast!
