I have penciled this in subject to some sunshine. Taking the wife and she does not do rain. Forecast looks quite good at the moment - probably just do the fell race at 3pm and then a beer after.
are there any kids fell races?
Calendar says

Whatever it was, I ain't touching the damned stuff ever again :o
No wonder they had to carry the popes everywhere
I echo Ady's complements though Gordon - a great run, well done!
Just hope I can still be running at 75. Inspirational! :)
I missed the results on this one. Are they likely to be on the web anywhere? Anyone from Wharfedale/ Keighley posting them?
i only no limited info. ted mason won the seniors. kristian edwards was first u17. will smith was first u14 ben jonstone second and nicole narey first girl :D
Guess Brett will put them up when he gets them. Great little event, 2 races, nice scenery. Had a top afternoon....
just found the road race results

maybe this goes some way to redeem a weekend of poor fell results for me -
legs havent felt quite the same since or maybe this is just the shape of things to come! huh
Anyone got a route description for this please?
Might not be very good but... Start from the centre of the villiage on the road turn right by the pub, you will now be on a flat stoney track with a few streams through it follow the track for about 300m before going through a gate on the left you then climb the steep fields by the wall turn left through the gap in the wall so you now have the wall on your right you are now on the fell on follow it steeply few rocky bits to the flag on the summit, once your there turn left and you run across the top before sort of turing back on your self diagonally on a contour back to the gap in the wall and down the steep feilds back to the start.... Not that good a description its quite hardd to explain if you do it on the day you will get a better idea, its very short about 1.8m 450ft.
Cheers Scott.
Anyone else going to Arncliffe this weekend?
I'm planning to have a bash at both road and fell races.
Maybe.
Going for the first time with a couple of the kids - just the fell race though!
I'll be there, but only for the road race.
Me and wife will be there, plan is to do both. What time are they? It's the road race in the morning, fell race in the afternoon isn't it?
BL - Monkey Junior will not be there (something to do with a girl, he's of that age), I'm quite glad, my ego couldn't stand a double-thumping this weekend :)

Road 1.30 and fell 3pm I think.
Lots of people only going for one. I don't get a pass out as often as I'd like, so I figured I'd make the most of it!
As the wife said: "they're only short - the road race will be like a warm-up".
What have I let myself in for?
Tempting, haven't run a yard since Borrowdale. Mrs McFly has a point.
Yes, 1.30 and 3pm. It's been a long time since I missed a race because of a girl (probably more often vice versa these days, oops, sorry dear!).
St Norman has smited me a biblically painful sore throyt, i'm desperately trying to counter the spell with Difflam spray and eye of newt. I liked the look of the course for this, a pretty good first race back i think, perhaps i can appease the mighty St Norman by vowing to run in my Walshes rather than my Roclites :p.
Where does the road run go? Along that loop around the Skirfare and over the bridge at the bottom?
Some photos from Mrs T today.
Thanks to organisers and marshalls, really good blast.
And the sun shone !!!

Looked like a good run, had to miss it as this cold's still got me by the short and curlys.
Not sure if you got there, Mr B. (Oops, posts crossed in the, er, post.) The road loop is anti-clockwise to Hawkswick and back to Arncliffe. A pleasant loop, though I set off thinking I was still in my 30s.
The fell race goes south up to Blue Scar and back. Pretty rough ground, so not too hot if you've a dodgy ankle.
A grand day out though.

Did both races, good fun. Slower than last year for both but no surprise there.
Enjoyed.

That's Paul Sessford road isn't his speciality!
Just wanted to say a big thank you to the man who encouraged my daughter to the top of the hill in the U12s. She got quite upset on the climb, but thanks to him she made it, ran all the way back and now feels proud of herself for not dropping out, and we are very proud of her for finishing the race too.
