Variety is, as they say, the spice of life. And whilst all us forumites would (probably) count fell running as the only reason why we breathe and eat, it's nice to have a spread of interests. So what other sports do you do and why?
To start you off, for me its tennis. Why? Its a great combination of fitness, agility, concentration, skill, tactics and mental toughness. The fact that I have very few of these things does not detract from the fun!:)
I like baiting Daily Mail readers.
For me, it has to be 5-a-side football. Not any good at it. PLay with a group of mates every Thur, not in a league. Its all about the fun and a pint afterwards. It does get quite physical though and many have turned knees, ankles etc.:D
Mountain biking, but even worse at that than running :o (hence the leg now in strapping!)
I used to play snooker but after a year I was still no good at that either.
I like a good game of squash, but have not played for ages.....Hmm.... wheres that racquet gone?
Sailing of all kinds does it for me. Esp racing.

Cycling.
Though I also do a bit of climbing and used to be a racewalker.
Also enjoy Kayaking (haven't done any for ages though), and liked the Sailing in the 3PYR!!
So much to do and so little time and resources to do them with!!!
Varies. Football has always dragged me back.
But sailing (raced lazers), kayaking, SCUBA diving, rugby, golf, climbing (summer and winter), have been the other distractions.
the winning is the fun. Must admit I'm one of those who will play a game of 5's like it's an FA cup final or a real league game. My brothers 30 next week and I'm 27, but we still have to play 5's on the same side or else well start fighting and have a personal battle.Quote:

Climbing, fell walking (though normally turns into a run :D ), mountain biking...if it's outdoors I will give it a go.
That's the problem. Once you start fell running its hard just to go for a walk. It is nice sometimes though to get ladled up with the camera, stove, food and really take your time and do a few scrambles as well.Quote:
