Hi,
If anyone is interested I am having a second attempt at the BG tomorrow. Leaving Keswick clockwise at 6am. I have a very strong team and a good weather forecast so I have my fingers crossed nothing goes wrong.
Is it silly to set off at 6am on a 22 hour schedule at this time of year and be condemned to a long night on L4? Perhaps. I will let you know on sunday.

Of course, if you really mean 22hr then make sure you do roughly 3:38, 6:28 and 5:50 for the first three legs.
Take your time.
Don't rush.
It's not a race.

It was quite an eventful night, going from being up on the 22 hour schedule at Wasdale to finishing in 23:36. But absolutely no regrets about the time.
Looking back over the past 18 months since I started running has made me realise just how many people I have met, and who I now regard as my closest friends. To everyone who has offered me advice and to everyone who I have run - thank you for helping me out with this amazing journey.
A great effort and a long time in the dark even now the days are getting longer...your comment on the blog about "now or never" when things got tough on the last two legs is what the round is all about!

Well done. What a belting day and a super result. It's really got me excited about my attempt now. Just hope we get similar conditions in June.

Just read the report on the blog Andy... inspiring stuff.
Attempting myself on May 25th and have a healthy degree of apprehension about it but some great support in whom I have confidence in spades. Training largely gone to plan though the next 'back to back days' session may be hijacked by the weather... it's Easter Monday and Tuesday on Legs 3 & 4.
Well done with your persistence mate. Now enjoy relaxing and taking your foot off the gas for a while:D

Well done Andy and a fantastic account of your day our on the fells.
I am doing my own attempt June 15th and I have a very reliable and great support team around me, so I am hoping that they will all help get me round on the day, few more big sessions still to do!:)
Just read your report. Thats a really impressive effort!! I've been running 25+ years, proper fells for over 15! To go form zero to the BGR in 18 months or so is brilliant! Your report has certainly re-inspired myself. just need to get those 8+ hours in, back to back days and a fair few double leg efforts in! Reading the report also reaffirmed that I need another year or so properly looking at it and getting my prep 100%. Cheers!...and sincere congratulations.
