I think I might be having a go.
Cool, I'll see you there.
I'll be on Marshalling duties or something, if last years any thing to go by. Its a great race, look out for Baz runninng in his underpants.
It's a good course, mainly on paths. It's a bit rough climbing up Jacob's Ladder and Aggie's Staircase is a short steep climb but the rest is pretty runnable (if you are fit enough!).
I'll hope to pass you on the way up to the tower Graeme but you will be back past me before Aggie's.
There is a slight route change this year, its very close to the start.
A map can be found on the dashers site link

Im sure JulianD will be able to tell us a little more.
Cheers
Jamie

Do say hello as you pass
I'll be marshaling, or taking ur dosh or summat like that. :p
Yeah I'll be doing it! :D
Don't look owt like the avatar, tall skinny red horwich vest on and aerodynamic hair cut (I AM NOT GOING (some may say gone) BALD):(
Full recce at 5.45pm. (Weather permitting!)
ah won't be managing that Mr Swoop. Will be sat on the M6 getting annoyed no doubt!
Plus I've got a 5 a side game after the run!
Think I might play in goal!:)
I won't be there had a bad head/cold all week.
Who can put results on quicker than this...
www.dashers.org.uk/aggies07.htm
posted from the White Lion pub within one and a quarter hours of the race finishing.
You still in the pub?
That wet really well tonight
Great race once again Julian, a bit wet but quite enjoyed the new start / finish.
The link above does not seem to work, bit of a typo, try this one:

:D
Hi Bog trotter, do youv run for wehsam. I think I gave you a shout. I was with two cannine friends
Thanks Bog Trotter, the typo spoils my boast somewhat. Damn. Glad you liked the new start and finish - it really does push up the climb per mile, putting it in the same category as the classic fell races. It has the feel of quite a rough route too, especially in these wet conditions.
Jamie, no I've left the pub now, but I had to get the results on the internet before the runners got home so I did that from there. A promise is a promise after all.
Yes NOUN, that's me, I saw you thanks for the shout, also met Calf tonight and saw Swoop on his second circuit of the route!
Nice to see the gang who marshalled the Harrock Hill race last night getting a chance to run tonight, shame they couldn't have brought the weather with them!
Thanks once more Julian for a great little race. The revised start is challenging and the wet weather made it really interesting. Thanks Swoop for the heads up on the start following your recce. Jamie thanks for the encouraging shouts. I'm sure everything will go OK for your support leg for ST on his BGR. Have a good one.
All in all a great evening.
Did you organise the accident on the M61 to make sure I didn't get home before the results?;)
I was sat in the car for 90 minutes without moving! Wish I'd stayed in the pub for an hour or two now.
Thanks for a great race Julian. Superb organisation as always. Thanks to all the marshals and the very efficient registration team. The only downside was the runner who decided he didn't have to queue for
the gate with the rest of us and just pushed his way to the front.
I don't think the rest of the runners were impressed Pete James of West Pennine Runners!
Yep cheers to guys really enjoyed it.
thanks to notonyourhelly for the shout 2nd time past Darwin tower!:D
Nice course and the weather was great!
Thou think I've put a hole in the bottom of my foot from the rocky bit at the finish
All in all lots of fun and got to meet bog trotter as well!
There was a guy taking pictures on the track up to the tower and in about the same place on the descent, anyone know who he was and where the pictures might end up?
Calf - why have you changed your Avatar??
Hi
The photogrsapher was matt Donnelly (No Relation to Julian, well I dont think he is).
If I find out where the pictures go I'll let you know
Thanks NOUN :D
Did this last year in strong winds and driving rain. I could hardly see on the way down although the steep road descent to the finish was the worst bit. Good event though and achievable even for road runners like me looking for a bit of variety (and I still wasn't last).
I will be there, I've done the other Darwen Tower Races so looking forward to this one.
I'll be coming subject to my work.
I'll be there.
Going up tomorrow to acclimatise.
Well it's my son's birthday actually!
Hope the guy who jumped the queue at the gate last year doesn't turn up this time.
Everyone was disgusted with him. I think Pete James of West Pennine was his name.
Practice run 5.50pm Thursday. Race 7.15pm.
Well it worked well for me last year!:)
