Just had a quick scroll around wharfedales website for any info on this race and I cant find any. As i said it was a quick scroll so may just have not found it but as its next weekend I could do with being able to spread the word to our juniors at training this week (tomorrow) Does anyone have any info about routes distances times etc please.
Was thinking the very same thing last week, so started a different thread in Races, which currently has a little more information (for the seniors at least!):)

This is the info mr Brightside put on the other thread regarding this race, its applicable to seniors, U18s & U16s -
Ted Mason talked me around the route last night which goes like so...
The start is on Outgang Lane like the BOFRA Hawkswick Dash. The route then heads diaginally accross the dale and up to a group of cairns at SD 950692 below Hawkswick Clowder. The route is partly on private land going up to the cairns. You then leave the cairns by the same route and return to Outgang Lane where the course then follows the exact route of the BOFRA Hawkswick Dash; which for those who don't know is a very steep out and back loop of the fell north of Hawkswick.
I spoke to the RO this evening and they are in the process of scanning maps to put online, however approx race distances & ascents are -
U12 - 125m, 1.6k
U14 - 125m, 2.6k
U16 - 250m, 5.7k
U18 - 250m, 5.7k
U18s will run with seniors, U16 will run the same route but as a separate race.
As I say, hopefully more details shortly.
Race times would be handy as well.

Good run from James Hall today, Scotty said he had a smashing line off the cairns, i don't think i've ever seen anyone win a race by so much.
A big Thank You to all at Wharfedale for a terrific day at Hawkswick today. The courses were challenging but enjoyed by all I spoke to, great for spectators too watching our best juniors powering up, hurtling along & flying down the hills.
Very impressive cakes too, both in quality & volume, clearly a lot of baking been going on.
The weather came good in the end, there was some superb running right across the age groups & Tim D did a fantastic job with registration & results. So thanks Dave, Kevin, Lynda, Sharon and the Wharfedale crew for all their efforts in putting on today's race.
Echo Duncans comments. Great event and top organisation by Wharfedale. See you all at Sedburgh.

Great to see some of our talented juniors taking the honours over the seniors in some of the shorter races. Brad Traviss of CVFR has had a great week winning Cragg Vale and Hawkswick. In the championship tables, 5 runners have already scored maximum points (best 4 from 6 races) in their age group, and there is the potential for 3 more at the final round, which would be unprecedented. However, they have all had to fight hard for their success, such is the quality, talent, and determination throughout the age groups. Brilliant to watch and applaud.
I'd also like to echo the comments made by Duncan R. Brilliant senior race to compete in and a great spectacle watching the junior races. I really hope the race(s) will be staged next year!Quote:
