Hello Roy, I'm going the week before so may not be ready for a leg. Will be glad to help out in any other way - some road support or ferrying people around. If my legs are up for it ill do what I can on the fells but can't say for sure that I can do a leg. See you soon on a recce,

Hi Roy, good luck with your round, I hope you enjoy it and the build up to it. Some of my best memories are of the many days spent training and recce-ing the route and also the folk I met on the way. Reading the threads on here today you are certainly preparing well and training hard for it.
No idea what you mean about slagging you off though, I haven't and have no reason to and would appreciate it if you wouldn't post that kind of thing on a public forum where I have many friends.
Apart from Adnan asking if I knew you and a few Strollers trying to explain to me who you are back in Oct/Nov ish you have not been mentioned.
As I said, good luck with your round.
Cheers,
Ken Maynard

Re: bgr attempt 4 may 2013
Morning Camper,
I can give you a hand on your round. What I can do depends on what time you're setting off from the Moot Hall as I'll most likely be driving up from GloucestermasseyfergusonooharrGeorgecomebackwithmy tankardshire on the Saturday morning but... I can be your rope man on Broad Stand (lots of climbing experience and rehearsed and then nailed Broad Stand in a 'right proper smooth operation' on my round last year. Or I can come along on Leg 5 (nav is alright off the nose down the craggy bit but not too hot on the direct line off right from near the summit of Robinson down to the 'notch' in the valley above the reservoir. Failing that, myself and my good lady can take your sprog up Robinson for ya; we're both teachers so we can test his mental arithmetic skills on your possible arrival time whilst we're waiting for you to come barrelling past in a fug of euphoria, ammonia, squiggly squirms and awesomeness!
PM me if you're keen for any of the above and we can have a chinwag.
Andy K
P.S. And if you're really lucky, the good lady may even knock out some cake too!
-
Re: bgr attempt 4 may 2013
Well Roy that sounds a better option than me taking your sprog up and then you could keep me and bill together which would be better for us logistic wise and hes with teacher instead of a hairy arsed engineer who hes never seen, works for me

Re: bgr attempt 4 may 2013
Hi all, I know it's a bit late notice, but I'm planning my attempt on the 4th too, 3am start, clockwise, 20hr schedule.
I've had a couple of dropouts, is there anyone who could help me out on leg 1 and/or 4?
Also looking to find someone who can do ropes on broad stand, as recce'd lords rake yesterday and it was impossible to get to in my katoolas....
Feel free to contact me directly as it's getting close now! - 07909855632 / [email protected]
Cheers, Mike

Sorry I can't help other than to possibly give you some inspiration. As you arrive at Moothall to prepare to go you may get a surprise visit from 2 dark peakers. They should be heading to Moothall for 7.00pm too. except they will have hopefully have climbed 42 tops and ran around 72 miles. give them a cheer from me...

Re: bgr attempt 4 may 2013
Good luck Roy. Weather looks good, you've done the work so no need to do any more now. You will be ready to go & go well. What can I do in terms of road support? will be there to see you off, and can do any ferrying about to give your road support a break any time. See you at the moot hall.
