I was wondering about doing it,

A good little course, usually very muddy, farmers fields to start, short little hill, then finish throwing yourself down the short little hill, watching out you don't hit the fence at the bottom and over into the canal.:)
Just watch out for the cyclists.. people think we are mad but they really are.
grub in the pub afterwards, good bit of banter with cyclists.fields hard work, good climb, brilliant descent.mudbaby will be in her element.
a really nice low key event.
sounds like its worth the drive over, have meant to try this one for last few years but always find excuses not to. anyone got an address or post code for the pub so can map directions?
thanks!
Do the top guys ride cyclo-cross or mountain bikes?
Thanks.
I guess I'll be taking the cross bike then. ;)
there has been mountain bikes in the past
its what your happy riding as there is no hassle.
what is the fastest?
mountain bike or cross bike?
so cyclist v harriers v mountain bikers
I in my injured, run down and knackered state will be there. Might even clean the bike.
Keighley and Craven has ordered a club cycling shirts as as you know we are superior at all sports. They have not arrived yet but watch out when they do as we start to dominate the cycling scene.
today cyclists v Harriers, tomorrow the world
Yes I am, but as usual at any race I'll be jogging in just behind Antisocial
Have always wanted to run this race but as not fit enough and waiting an ankle op I see no harm doing it on my cross.
Look out for Dennis the Menace!
am i right, is the pub/start just along from saltaire? kids/missus mite come and may well want to go in there for a look
a little way along, maybe a couple of miles or so
What's the best way in from Bradford side? A650 then B6265?
At the roundabout just past the Bankfield (Ramada Jarvis) go straight on instead of taking the Bingley bypass. Head down the hill, bear right over the river bridge and turn right immediately before Beckfoot school. Don't know about the parking situation though, I'm hoping that Bingley Harriers will flag directions from there.
just park along road, its always been a low key event.
park near fishermans, walk along canal, past locks, cross over canal on hump back bridge, race starts in field on left, you will see others milling around.
have a good one.
Thanks Dylan. Bit of a home fixture for me, on Hope Hill. Never done this race before though, so looking forward to it.
No he did not - ungrateful git. He was too busy poncing about with his mate fraser (perhaps you might know him?) "We spent the race holding hands" a direct quote from Brett in the pub or was it Fraser, they are interchangeable.
One of my worst performances ever, nearly as bad a last week when i dropped out of a cyclocross race after one lap! But at least I finished, after a fashion, spending most of the race in the company a charming young lady runner instead of sweaty Brett which was infinitly more prefrable. I only just beat her mind, and thats only cos I hit her with my bike, (the rock missed).
Enjoyed that. Good to have the flu out of my system, only got the chest infection left to shift now..
Who else is moving west along the canal for tomorrow's race at Silsden? I'm sure I'm not the only idiot doing both events, even if Dom is pretending to be sensible.
The Wave Harriers, which at 3.00pm looked like something you'd give a very lucky pig by way of a treat, will be dripping for a couple of days, so it's Walshes tomorrow for me despite the tow path sections.
brrrrr it was so cold
good turn out,i believe best yet
the support was great, loads of cheering
thanks you to all
am i right in saying rob bet the record for bike by 2 mins
results should be out by monday
He was certainly a couple of minutes clear of his nearest challenger beginning the descent from Dobrudden (I know, because I was still wheezing my way up the hill!)
After that, there wasn't another cyclist in sight, and I saw at least 12 runners heading back down to the Glen. Did harriers win overall, or were the cyclists able to make up enough ground on the descent? I suspect that would have been asking too much, given the conditions; but that makes Rob's ride all the more impressive.
runners won the cyclists, well we are superior beings after all,
the first lady had a great run
i believe she was from buxton
No just one to take the easy way out like brett and the boys, all of whom have access to cyclo cross bikes (except Fraser, who I think has has a bike walking arrangement with Millipede she owns it but he takes it out for her) but are too frightened to use them.
Off to Brizzel for work till mon evening enjoy Rivock all.
