FRA First Aid Course

FRA Emergency Wilderness First Aid Course


The FRA in its role to help promote higher safety standards in our sport have organised a 2 day ITC Emergency Wilderness First Aid Course. It is aimed primarily for FRA members and runners who marshal races, these people will be given priority. It is hoped to do further courses and open it to all members if successful.


The course is subsidized so presents excellent value for money for members at £85

The date of the course is to be 11-12th April and we have space for 24 candidates.

The Venue is to be Woodhead barn in the Northern Peak.


Please reply to myself in the first instance to [email protected] expressing interest or with any queries.

A booking letter will then be sent back with more details. Payment must be made by 30th March or your place will be offered to someone else. Payment can be made via PayPal or Cheque.

I'll be looking in to putting the next course on in Autumn, probably in Cumbria.

I'll email all those who have expressed an interest but you can now pay here, any one new please contact me so I can put you on the list. It's worth chatting to your club to see if they will subsidize or even pay for you. it's good for both club and the individual to be ready for all eventuality.

We have another course running in the Newlands valley lakes in 3 weeks, there may be a couple of places free after some one has dropped out.

Next course I hope will be in the Peak on 16-17th April. I'm just waiting a final confirmation. I have a waiting list from the last course, they will be offered places first but there should be some spaces free.

Will email those on the waiting list then open it up to others.

Last call for the first aid course. Are you a runner that marshals a race or just a concerned what you will do if a runner falls or collapses near you... if so get in contact...
If not but you know some one from your club who is interested please pass this on.

Priority For Race Officers and Marshalls but open to all fell runners.

The Course will run from Woodhead barn on 18-19th February.

This is the 4th course we've run and the last 3 got excellent reviews

The price will be £85(Bargain), this does not include food(other than tea/coffee and biscuits) and accommodation however we have been told that we are welcome to stay over in the barn, using blow up beds / sleeping bags at no cost .... We have use of the kitchens to cook and there are showers. There is room for camper vans and there are B&Bs near by.

Saturday night we will probably go to a local Indian which went down really well last time,

Can any one interested Pm me your email and I'll send out booking/payment details.

There is a number of people on a waiting list and they will have first shout, however from Monday it's open to all

We will make one of these courses on of these days. We are away once again on that weekend. Heard so many good reviews about them Ian. Keep up the good work.

Next course date is the 10-11th of February, Price £85

It's in the peak again. I did put a post on the FB Fellrunners page asking for alternative locations but got zero response. I have 6 waiting for a peak course so that is the reason I'm going back there.

Look up the post for details as nothing has changed.
