Re: Blackshaw Head Fete Fell R
I've changed it.
Do you want a lift? Stu is helping me marshall again so you might get gates open on time.

Re: Blackshaw Head Fete Fell R
If I wasn't doing the Ben I'd definitely being doing this. Quality little race with a tasty little climb thro fields at the end. If you know leg 4 of the Calderdale Way Relay, then the end of this race is the opposite to the start of that leg i.e. you run up from the bridge at Colden Clough towards Blackshaw Head. Last year torrential rain and very strong winds kept numbers fairly small - hope it's better this year.

JJ, you do actually have to run and finish the race in 4th place in order to win the prize for this position.
-
Re: Blackshaw Head Fete Fell R
Ha ha. I just thought there might have been some smart arse agenda behind the comment.

Re: Blackshaw Head Fete Fell R
I had a run round most of the route today (I didn't have time to do all of it). It is lovely running and countryside. I think you could do it best in road shoes if it stays dry.

Re: Blackshaw Head Fete Fell R
Chris are you the defending champion at this race ?

No, James Logue won last year which was the inaugural race. Results
I'm going to have a run round the bottom half (about 3 miles) at around 12.45pm if you fancy a jog round.

Re: Blackshaw Head Fete Fell R
Thank you JJ for your kind offer. The boys don't want to go now and I've no one to watch them at home so I won't be there. Have a good run everyone.

Re: Blackshaw Head Fete Fell R
Great race. I was nearly 4 minutes faster than last year thanks to the better conditions.
Highlight was the Three Musketeers unsuccessfully trying to get to their marshalling point
before all the runners had gone through.
Luckily I had recced the course an hour earlier so knew where to turn sharp left on to Edge Lane.
A few minutes later Saints Lad came haring down the road from the opposite direction followed
a short while later by Roger Rabbit, grinning as usual, and JJ carrying her first aid kit! Classic.:D

Sorry JJ. We had no problem. As you said it was well marked. I bet it was the rabbit's fault anyway!:)

If you'd carried a map swoop you'd have known the way anyway! Blummin' roadrunners who come out to fell races....:)
-
Re: Blackshaw Head Fete Fell R
Good to see JJ (behind a camera lens!), Swoop, Dom, GrahamB, et al
Thanks to Tod - well organised and marshalled (despite the mickey taking :D ) and a very enjoyable race today, even though I felt terrible on the climb back to the gala field! :o
Shame about the stile after barely half a mile, where we all seemed to have to wait for ages for Graham to get over it before we could start running again... ;) :D

Take it easy, take it easy

Does that mean you went as the Eagles fly rather than following the twists and turns on the ground? ;)

Swoop glad you were 4 mins faster, we were given bum info on the marshalling point hence the reason we passed it twice  but i got there to see half the field pass us !!!!!!
Then we relaxed & enjoyed the bulmers :D

Oops I woud've missed it if you hadn't resurrected this thread ML.
Tempted to finally run my first FRA race of the year esp as nowt else planned for the w/e (that's another story).
Also like the idea of an uphill finish -might gain a few places back on all those who pass me between Mount Pleasant and Colden Clough:)
Now club vest or Pony vest?!
