Lift sharing to races

I know it's not always practical sharing a lift but the number of people turning up at races with no passengers seems quite high - I noted this at a race last night whilst I was waiting for the start time. Was just wondering if a new subtitle in the forum for lift sharing to races would prove worthwhile. I know people sometimes mention lifts within the race threads but just thought I would throw this idea into the mix - any thought?

I used to share lifts to track races and some road races but no one runs on the fells other than me from my club so by myself it is

Our club always tends to share lifts to races this is usually sorted out at the club meet a few nights before a race.

Its a good idea for the forum, it will also be of great benefit to the peeps who dont drive.

A great idea, do our bit for the enviroment as well!!

I've always said you're more than welcome to have a lift, you'll just have to sit in the back with a dog who is often sick on long journeys. :D

great idea Ady - yep perhaps a category under the recce one may be useful?

Trade the car in for a Ford Transist Mini Bus. One of them schools have which carry 17 people. Then, you could make a killing by charging a small fee to pick up and drop people off. Race organisers would love you as you would be removing 17 chelsea tractors from the race venue!!!!

Won`t get many runners and there kit in my Classic mini, and could be a real problem if someone cramped up after the race.:D

Still a good idea as long as your passengers are equally paced and share similar social ideals.

And socialist ideals.

I think the FRA would need to put a big disclaimer at the top of the section. Imagine if somebody got picked up by an axe-murderer or something and was never seen again!

I understand the need to finish at similar times, but where did the similar social ideals bit come from? lol I don't mind giving a lift to anyone as long as they aint bonkers and know when the shut up.
