its a new run replacing a older run i think. looking at the rough draft its a good looking route with plenty of rolling wolds and some pictureque looking dales i'd say its more a hilly trail race than a full on fell race as there'll be a bit of farm land to cross.there saying runners start at 12 and a 22hr limit so it could be a head torch job .i'll be as its local for me.
I'll try and find something emmi when i dig out my LDWA membership number.I'll paste it on here. Here are details i do have:Apr 26/27 2008 50 mls from Driffield Showground. Start 0800 enter in advance £12 inc refreshments en route and hot meal at end. Cheques to East Yorks LDWA Group ,
Entries to Neil Ingram , 99 York Rd, Driffield,YO25 5AY
Std entry form from the back of strider is ok with SAE.
I've had a look on the LDWA website and East yorks group that organises this event. No more detail than in Strider. web address www.beehive.thisishull.co.uk
here's some more info from the eastriding magazine. guarantee the food will be good. and the hills quiet and empty. camping as well by the sound of it beats a hard class room floor.

Good evening Alf
I did the old woldsman course a few years ago from a transport cafe in Beverley. If the new course is anything like the old one, it's definitely not a fell race. There were some hills in it, but it was mostly on farmland around field edges and a couple of disused railway lines. But it was a very pleasant run and well organized.
Cheers Dude. I thought as much , i used to live in the area and reckon it'll use the wolds etc. Although these aren't steep , 50 miles of them is a tough run/walk.
emm , im still not looking at this thread
