At last! Someone has made East Fife FC fell shoes! :D
They do look good though - not seen them yet. I love my Wave Harrier (first incarnation)...
Got a pair on saturday. Ran Cracken Edge in them yesterday and was very happy with them (if not my performance). Not tried them on the fells yet.
Only downside was the grief I got from fellow club members on the overwhelming yellowness of the shoe at the start- now nicely several shades of brown with just a hint of yellow shining through.
If you liked the previous Wave Harriers you'll be happy with these.
I'm thinking of these for the UTMB, I spoke with the guy at Pete Blands on Saturday and he reckoned they were broad at the toes? This true?
How are they on all terrain?
Torn between these and Crosslites at the mo?
Very wide toe box but narrow enough for me at the heel. One of the main reasons I got them was because so many of the other fell shoes are too narrow around my toes. eg Montrail Highlander, Inov-8 (roclite?)
I reckon they're a good all rounder which does mean you sacrifice a little grip if its very steep grass/mud but not so much that it's a problem. Some complain of grip on wet rock but I don't find that a particular problem. They're also ok on the road (if you have the misfortune of having to run on some horrible tarmac).
They're my first choice for long runs and training due to comfort and support and used them (the original blue wave harriers) happily on MMs, Edale Skyline, Tanky's etc.
I guess like anything you have to try them out for yourself to see if they suit you and your needs...
Not tried the crosslites so can't compare.
These sound interesting, I've got wide feet. I tried the wide Walsh PB Ultras most recently, but they actually feel a touch sloppy. Too much movement at the heels and hard to cinch things in with the laces.
I agree, I really like wave harriers as they suit my wide feet. I wear them for almost all my peak district 'fell' races, most of which are >90% on footpaths. With narrower shoes I find I'm less balanced and tend to twist my ankles or I run more tentatively down hill to avoid this.
Currently I'm on my third pair (two blue, one red). I'm not sure I would have picked bright yellow, but I reckon I'll get some when my current pair wear out.
Up+Running Chadderton didn't quite have my size in stock but tried some of the yellow ones 1/2 size bigger. They felt very similar to the red ones so I have ordered a pair the right size. £54 after club discount.
I had to take my red Wave Harriers back yesterday, after around 40 gentle miles, they'd started to split!
Anyone else had the shoe split on them?
I have loved the Wave Harriers for training and the long races, but they were not the shoe for Borrowdale. They are the old ones and it was like skating on the wet rocks on ScafellPike. If the new ones have the promised wet rock grip they will be brilliant.

I'm after some new trail shoes. I've been using Asics Gel Canyons, I'm sure they were discontiniud about 5 years ago when I stocked up in the clearance sales but my last pair is well overdue for replacement.
I'm going to primarily use them for LDWA events so would like some comfort but I still like fairly lightweight shoes. I'll stick with my Walshes for fell running so I don't need huge grip on steep ground.
I won't touch Inov8's after bad experiences, is the Wave Harrier likely to suit?
Not tried Canyons but have had several Asics trail shoes that suited my shape of foot and the Wave Harriers also suit- so I would guess yes.
Tried them out today, they were rubbing on the instep after about 3 miles:eek:. Two blisters, one quite big on the instep where the stitching is on the inside. Never had any blisters with the previous ones (blue and red).
I have used Nike Trail shoes for while but these new ones are excellent had hem 5 days and done two runs on trails and hills. First run was 11.2 mile second run 13.4 mile and no blisters or anything they have to be the most comfy trall shoes I have worn and I think I will gve them a try on the fells.Quote:

Bl**dy comfy shoe this. My oldest pair (blue v1) are splitting on the tops - I keep checking as the tear is almost right across the toes....:( Recently wore them on the fells and they made mincemeat out of my toes on really rocky descents so not the best for this sort of terrain.
Have a brand new pair (red v2) in the box that I'm waiting to try out asap.
The new ones look a bit flash - you have to be good to run in them! :p
