When i first joined the forum i asked for advise, ive always remembered that someone told me to keep my toe nails nice and short....;)
congratulations on completing your first race.
ignore the tips in the 'advice that is free' thread unless you like eventful  races
Sounds like you did well for your first race.:)
As above entering races is the best training for it and also the most fun!
Don't forget you need a pint after, just to top up the electrolytes.
wel done on your race and welcome, i'm the only person on here that will give you straight sensible answers, all the others are nutters:D
good result for a first run, you'll improve no end just by getting used to the underfoot terrain, then when you get used to the hills you'll improve even more so keep at it and enjoy it
Thank you for all the lovely comments in response to my post!!
I hope to get some more races unde rmy belt next year but would dearly love to get another one in before this year is out. Does anyone know of a 'nice' race I can try preferably up in North Wales area?
Struggled with sore knees all week - is this normal?
Thank you all again x
Get in touch with Han (Haneke) - she lives that way out and maybe able to advise you of local North Wales run races that may not be in the FRA calendar
There are a few Welsh based runners on here I'm sure someone can be more specific
It's not in Wales but near enough....the Cardington Cracker in Shropshire is an, erm, cracker. 1st weekend in december...
