Antone doing this one? Seems a few are going to Shining Cliff Woods:confused:
I'm doing it. Don't forget to take full body cover etc. or,quite rightly, incur the wrath of Stringman !!
Cheers!
My new montane pants arrived in the post today:D but i was out and they have taken them back to the depot:mad:
Hoping to start the New Year here. What's it like?
Mrs Stagger will be going if you need some company Swoop.
She is on a mission to complete 40 fell races in her 40th year.
is any one going to this from leeds who would fancy giving me a lift so i dont have to wake up so early?
Might ave a pop at this one, could do well.
consider it done!!
Eh??
Is he paying you?
Beware of young Jonathan Hare from Halifax.
He beat both Karl Gray and Ben Mounsey in the Giants Tooth at Ogden water on New Years Day.
I'm going from Leeds, doing it the hard way though. Bike on the train to Halifax and then cycle up the hill through Ovenden and Illingworth to Ogden
Easy going back though !! :D
hey leeds rhino, if you know the way to the race etc, would you mind me tagging along with you cos my navigation skills may be a bit dodge early in the morning, as long your not some sort of indurin-esque cyclist i shouldnt be too far behind...
Hello fasterthanpotty, I'll pm you my phone number, need to check the train times tonight. I'm certainly no endurance type cyclist,I'll just be puffing and panting my way up the Keighley road !!!:)
MrsJ is doing this.
That'll be 3 races in 9 days after almost a year of doing no races at all for her!
Are you running, Crow Hill ?
I think so - I chickened out of the cortisone injection so I should be able to get round, give or take a few ibuprofen...
I noticed MrsJ had a good run at the Coley Canter - I knew she was a long distance legend but I didn't realise she was a speed merchant. Very impressive time considering the time off racing. Are you up and running yourself?
p.s. please let me know when we can go through the stats stuff again
Cheers,
CH.
wahey, looks like leeds rhino s taking me under his navigational wing to get there, so hopefully it should be a good race, only problem for me is me inov8 are at a mates house in halifax who s pussied out the race so i ll have the pleasure of running in me asics!
I think she's surprised herself that she's actually been enjoying shorter races. I'm not sure she's even been described as a "speed merchant" before. :D
I had a first gentle run for 6 weeks, today. My knee ached but it held up OK so that's put me in a better mood! Its good to be able to run again - just a shame to have missed the calderdale way relay.
I'll give you a call about the stats stuff.
What am I looking for if I manage to find my way there?
A building, a tent or the boot of Stringman's car?
still can't decide if doing this one OH is working so if he's home in time to set off I'll be there - Swoop was hoping to follow you round - hope you know the way!!;)
If its like last week the registration was in the Causeway Foot pub. Its on the A629 a couple of hundred yards before the top of the hill on the Halifax side.
Will there be a ring up for the boxing match?
I can't get along to this one tomorrow. This was the race that got me hooked on fell running three years ago. Good luck everyone.
Well, did no-one run it then? I expected loads of posts by now saying what fun it had been and how the weather was glorious.
Great race. Thanks stringman!
Nice to meet Goose Fat and BillJ for the first time as well as quite a few other forumites.
Well done to Stagger's missus and her mates from Stainland Lionesses on winning the ladies team prize.
Really enjoyed the race......brilliant route which lent itself well to the mirky weather.
Good to meet you Swoop (recognised from your avatar).
Didn't manage to stay as long as the prize giving as Gosling Fat was beginning to kick off. The joys of a 2.5 year old.
Cheers Stringman. A great doo!
This is a lovely beautiful race that every fellrunner should do at least once in their lives. I often take in this route and admire the fair beauty of this good world. Stringman deserves the MBE for his effort. I love him, we all love him. God loves him.
leeds rhino cheers for yesterday, my legs were just too tight after playing squash, if your going to the stanbury splash should be able to get a lift from halifax/keihghley train station if you fancy
