Sorry to get your hopes up Llanberis, but i can't run!!!
I thought you were running Timo. Geoff B must be up for it? Go on Geoff, you know you want to...
Llanberis...
I'll ask some of the "normal" suspects!
Suggest you also try the Dark Side + the HPM Organisers - they may have a list of probable runners.
Good Luck
see you Friday...
Just looked at what this race is. It's madness!!!!!!
Simon, we were in the exact position last year when a member of ours dropped out at the last minute. You have my sympathy. We entered again this year but didnt get selected. Although I did ask the HPM committee to put me on the 'standin' list. However, I dont feel I've got the race in me now. Having not been selected originally we turned our minds off from this race and focussed on other things. Thinking about it now fills me with dread. You have our best wishes and I hope the bogs of Bleaklow arent too bad !!
Good luck.;)
Did this last year and I'm therefore very tempted, but have now made plans that I would not be forgiven for breaking. If anyone is thinking about it, and has done a reasonable amount of training, go for it. You won't regret it.
Simon, I know that the organisors have a list of stand-by teams. Perhaps they will put you in touch with them in case one of the team members can be persuaded to join you. I've emailed a couple of mates for you as well.
Simon
Try posting something on forum on www.sleepmonsters.co.uk, with WARC coming up soon a lot of guys are wanting to these long distance runs.
Good Luck
Mick
This is a real last minute vacany - Team "THE WELSH CONNECTION" - expected time 12 to 13 hours - we've recc'd it all recently so hoping we don't have to miss out. Go on - you know you really want to do it and only 30 hours now to worry about it.

Got dragged into a team for this yesterday. See you all tonight.
I'm around if anybody needs me - just drop me a note!
Timo,
What went wrong, thought you were already on a team of Bogtrotting High Flyers!?
Guess you didn't get the "late" call either, don't recall seeing your smiley face in the Village Hall!
Ayup,
Our team fell apart a bit in the last couple of weeks - illness and stuff.
How did you get on?
I guess there will always be next year Timo!?
In a lot of respects you were "lucky" to sit this one out - the boggy'ist one ever in my experience, found it a real trudge, not much fun thru' the night; feet are still a mess, due to hours of cold soaking & thrashing on flags!!
After the last couple of years of cracking icy & snowy conditions, I'd forgotten how tough it can be.. we even strayed a little on Bleaklow, which was unforgivable, given the company I was in.
Thanks to the aged nature of our team (RC Vets - combined age 249 years!) we won the Vets Prize... I've a bottle of Old Leg Over to down for my sins!
Probably see you on the Skyline if the feet & legs recover by then.
What a great event! Well done Luv Shack. The boggy stretch through the night was hard work, my feet and hands were frozen. The snow brightened everything up a bit, felt like I was running across big sand dunes. I think the first hill I saw through the whole event was the last descent as the clouds lifted.
:D sounds good, well kind of in a warped way of course!
I would like a crack at this one one year !
