Question for Dark Peakers
In a fit of being organised (or bored at work) I'm thinking about April races.
Cos of last year's clash with 3 Peaks I couldn't do the Some You Win; Some You Lose.
I had it firmly on my list for this year but can't see any details. Do you have any plans to put it on again?

I've emailed Jim the RO. I'll let you know when I get the answer but it's not on the DPFR calender either.
But checking this has shown another big clash PPP and Kinder Downfall on same week end:(
I'm already in the PPP so the Downfall (another of my big favourites) will have to wait another year.:(
Sorry Andy! One year I will complete the hayfield series:o

I couldn't decide between the 3Ps and the downfall so I'm trying out both this year
I was talking about SYWSYL with some mates at the weekend and was going to post a similar question....any answers fom the RO gratefully received - it's a really good course.

Come on Ian your no light weight.;)
I did High Peak Marathon and New Chew in the same weekend, I will admit to it being a few years ago though.
Re: Question for Dark Peakers
any news on SYWSYL yet?
and while we're at it, what about Edale Chase - do dpfr know anything about that one?

Ref. the Edale Chase. I have no plans to organize this at the moment. As the 08 calendar entries date was approaching in 07 it seemed like a good idea- a series of three races including the Skyline and Country Day race( which I also organize).
However I found that the Skyline organization took up so much time that it was difficult to find the time to organize that third medium race, so to avoid organizing it badly it was cancelled.
I still have it in the back of my mind to do- so it may eventually appear.
Cheers, Andy
Re: Question for Dark Peakers
The Skyline does seem like an epic job...
What was the planned route for the Chase?
Re: Question for Dark Peakers
Just FYI - Kinder Downfall is the day after PPP.... Doubt the SYWSYL race would be on this weekend? Whaddya think?
Re: Question for Dark Peakers
The SYWSYL race will not be an open FRA race this year due to logistics & permissions. If it happens, it will be a DPFR club members only race, but not even a provisional date for this has been suggested.
Re: Question for Dark Peakers
I like the new Avatar Darth.
While we're on the subject of questions to Dark Peakers, is Robin Hood Monumental going to be taking place this year? I seem to remember some discussion about the old organiser pulling out, and someone else taking it on.
It's a Fat Boy championship race, so I would expect at least 5 of us!
Re: Question for Dark Peakers
P.S. It's a shame about SYWSYL. I ran it last year and thought it was a fantastic race. I can completely understand, however, as the registration venue and parking were not ideal for what would be likely to turn into a very popular race.
Re: Question for Dark Peakers
Thanks Noel, Mandy was comparing my bum in Leopardskins Vs Jackie's in red. Have to admit I come a pretty poor second.
Looks like Baslow will happen with DPFR (probably me) as race organiser, after I got a call for help from the Pub Landlord last week. Just finalising a date. I understand that the previous organiser is blacklisted by the FRA after his no show last year, then was apparently very rude to an FRA committee member who rang him up to find out why he didn't show up and 200 runners did!
I've found that picture of Steph taking the plunge at Whaley Waltz if you want to remind me when we next meet.
Re: Question for Dark Peakers
Cheers Darth, that would be great. Looking forward to Robin Hood - one of Steph's favourtites.
