Just to say that there is now more info on the Calder Valley Junior website about the junior race on May 4th. I will be looking to keep this updated as the race approaches. Any questions just get in touch.

I have a new bike
Good race today. Fast, well organised and a free tan for the summer what more can you ask for.
Turbo Tom 2
Scott Baistow 0
lets wait and see what happens on a propa fell race course at the fra at ambleside and we will see what happens at grasmere this year ;):p
top 15 ? where are the results ?
Scott your in 17th but 8 points behind so your gonna have to beat me by at least 9 places in your next race to take the lead but im crap at shutlingsloe so ill just tuck in behind you. On the plus side your a sorted guy, still up for the lakes this summer
Oh have you done it before. The river crossing is pretty funny
They send us through the trees its a short lung buster. My power comes with the ability to just run up all the hill which is why i pass scott keeling over
Well i can run over 16 races but i got like 18 months before i can do owt over 6 mile.
The next one only has 300ft of ascent and its a week before the welsh 1000's. Magbe we should have a bet. good old lancs vs yorks. Maybe a forfeit of wearing a pro lancs or yorks vest. Summet along the lines of lancs rules or yorkshire sucks.:D:p
The results link to the juniors isn't working - it takes you to the photos
Some photos from Dave & Eileen here ...

these are some of the best photos ever
Could anyone tell me what the race route is like, is it on a track or steep fellside? How much is runnerable?
Hi Hemster,
If you are able to 'read' a map i.e. translate contour lines into 3D, this link might help you.
Think of it as an upside down hilly cross country.
All the climbing comes at the start and all the descending atthe end - the mileage is made up on the top of the hill.
I would even say you could run it in spikes:eek:
Thnx for that info the route looks like a good contrast to the steep up and down of the anniversary wa route!
Lets hope the weather holds out. :)
Advice given all sounds good. What age category are you in as that makes a difference. As Scott says its all runnable although WP would have you think that all the uphill is just at the beginning it isnt as its Its basically uphill all the way onto the moor and then depending on age cat its either a wet loop or two or straight back down.
Not sure many ran it in spikes last year!!
Whats the course like ATM? anyone been up is it dry or wet ?
itll be very boggy....im going up on friday after college probably if anyone wishes to join me
Have a good time you guys, i was toying with this one but my knee's not up to it now.
Yeah was up Ilkley moor tonight and it was fairly messy, wont slow the fast lads down though. Expecting a classy field as its the trail.
When i worked at Lambson's Chemicals in Castleford we used to have a machine called the swamp monster which sat in the middle of a bog it had created, now and again someone had to brave the green ooze to fix it. It used to just sit there and gurgle, periodically spueing out steam and condensate to refill the bog and keep the flies happy.
Miles off topic i know, sorry i think aloud at times
 Back to thread then.
Weather forecast for Monday morning looks cloudy, drizzle, cold (5C?), windy, and generally a bit miserable - ideal conditions then. :)
As CCR says; unlikely to dry out underfoot.
More rain for seniors in the afternoon - shame. ;)
