Hey, that's cheating. You have to leave your bike at Dunmail, then drive on to Keswick, run legs 1 & 2, and when you're completely knackered, cycle back to Keswick, and if anyone tells you it's all downhill from Dunmail, they're lying.:D
P.S. If you spot my overtrousers somewhere on Leg 1, please pick them up for me and let me know.
Will do Marvin,
Thats not a bad idea though with the bike if I was on my own, its got me thinking !
Im interested in a recce, Im not too sure on stringing both legs together but would definitely be interested in leg 1. Im then planning on camping in Wasdale over the weekend and early part of the next week for recces of the later legs if anyone else is interested in that...?
Helen
Helen that should be cool if you want to join us for one leg. Either we can sort picking you up from threlkeld or you could run the 3 miles back to Keswick down the old railway line.;)
Hey Helen, more than welcome, we shouldn't be going that fast with Karl carrying his bike an all.....
Brilliant, thats all sounds good. Make it a mountain bike and you could have some fun! Ill travel up late on Thursday and camp somewhere round Keswick for an early start Friday! I have done leg 1 twice before but being on my own Ive had to do more of a circle from the Blencathra centre than 'the route' start and finish so that'll be great to do.
Whats your email so I can bung you my mobile no etc for more details.

No problem Bill,
I'll see you on Saturday at Sty Head on Ian's JNC. I'll be peeling off down to Wasdale from there I think.;)
Helen,
I've PM'd you
Cheers Bill,
That would be great, put you down on my list.
Think plan for friday will be an early start meeting at Dunmail about 7 if that suits.;)
ouch, yeah early start is fine, can I meet you at thelkeld where I can leave my car? About 7.30 then? (trying to get an extra 30mins asleep) you guys can leave any food/water you don't want to carry on the first leg with my car then?
H
That sounds fine was going to email you this afternoon but you've beat me to it. We'll meet you by the kennels we should be there for twenty past I think if that's good with you ? ;) Leaving water in your car for second leg sound very appealing.
Cheers:D
Spot on,
Layby at Grasmere side is good Bill. See you there:)
Will be there at 7 also guys, any preference re car onward to Threlkeld? I'm happy either way.
Yep, see you all at the kennels!

Did you Guy's have a good day?
I was hoping to make it but had to work.
The weather was near perfect, not too hot and clear.:D
Was a great day, bit windy at times but apart from that pretty sunny and warm. Another good recce and 25 miles under the belt.:D
Very true navigator I am planning for the 26/27th of June :)
Good luck!
I hope that you are blessed with better weather than last midsummer.
I was navigating Section 4 on midsummer day in a howling gale and horizontal stair rods!
Hello,
Cheers for a good leg last week. My knee just aout managed to hold up for a couple more days but isn't great. Any chance you could forward me the pics Duncs?
Helen
Hi Helen, of course, I've just PMd you so if you send me your email I'll pop them over. It was a terrific day and many thanks for your excellent oat cakes which did the trick!
