Good luck to AJ (RR) and any others doing the Flora London Marathon this Sunday.
Scarcely over the jetlag from Boston and I'm heading down there tomorrow morning to watch. Someone on my plane was doing both though:eek:

Good luck Roadie! Do you get your name on your vest instead of a number, or is that just for Woodentops' races?! ;):)
Good luck everyone;)
I'm running it as my first marathon - might be slightly behind RR though.

Well done Andi Jones...brilliant run.
13th place - 2.30 better than his pb! :eek::eek:
Good shots of him finishing on the digital channel but usual shocking lack of coverage / respect for him and the other British runners on the main terrestial coverage.:mad:
Well Done Roadrunner!!
Great run Andi well done
Great effort Andi, you've done us all proud:):):)
Very classy run. Glad all the hard work has paid off for roadrunner:D
Just reading the BBC website - quote below
"Among the fun-runners was Postman Paul Simons, 45, from Edgware, north London.
He ran the fastest-ever marathon by a man dressed as Santa Claus in two hours, 55 minutes and 50 seconds, in aid of premature baby charity Bliss"
I think its about time the term "fun runner" was removed from the bbc's lexicon. Anyone, regardless of what they are dressed in, who can run a marathon in under 3 hours is hardly a fun runner and its an insult to describe them that way
And congratulations to Mr Jones on a great PB
Many congratulations Andi from all at Rochdale Harriers.
Echo everything that's been said.
Here is an interesting page.

He slightly dropped off the pace around 30k although it was a tremendous effort.
I think we will now go from stength to strength.:)
I'll add my congratualtions as well.
Well done Andi another storming performance.
The UKA 'A' standard for the Worlds is 2-12, the 'B' standard is 2-16. Either way a PB by over 2 minutes is a fabulous improvement.
As to why UKA insist on an 'A' standard 6 minutes faster than the official IAAF standard (2-18) is anyone's guess! Oh yeah... I've just remembered why... it's so they can waste more money funding sprint relay squads to drop the baton...
Indeed, a splendid run by Andi..a huge PB................
The reason they insist on an 'A' standard 6 minutes faster than the official IAAF standard is because (as Andi himself pointed out in a recent thread) that they want any travelling athletes to be in with a reasonable medal chance.....anything else (other than taking a very young talented athlete) would be seen in UKA eyes as a "waste" of resources.......as amusing as your point is Dom, the UKA sprint relay team will always be in with a realistic medal chance IF they can hold onto the baton......hence UKA can justify (in their eyes) taking 7/8 or more athletes (including those in the individual 100 and / or 200m sprints you understand)
