20 hr BG attempt 25 July
After abandoning my last attempt on Scarfell Pike in the snow on June 5th, I'm looking for help to have another go on Saturday 25th July. Planning to leave Moot Hall at 2am for clockwise round and be back before dark. struggling to get team so anyone interested in helping please contact me.

Re: 20 hr BG attempt 25 July
Good luck to those setting out this weekend esp Pete James attempting husband and wife round. and Richard Gilbert.
Not had any responses to this, so my working plan is to solo legs 1 and 2.
Start time:
Saturday 25th at 6 or 7pm
or 2am Sunday. depending on weather.
Any supporters to assist with legs 1 or 2 welcome.

Re: 20 hr BG attempt 25 July
Hi
It may be the pace putting people off, I'd happily help on slower round but would struggle to b. I'm sure I could help you out but for the fact that I'd not keep up, especially on descents in dark. Don't rule me out though and post on here your plans as sure I could help for a bit even if I had to drop off somewhere along the way

Just to point out to would-be supporters that there are a few bits of Sec 3 you can sit out (High Raise, the odd Langdale, Great End etc). It's not as bad as it sounds :).
I've supported Sec 3 on a sub 19 and am not a fast runner, but he had slowed (a bit) by then. But can't help this weekend, sorry Rod.
GOOD LUCK.

I'm helping Rod on the final trot home, hopefully he'll have slowed a bit by then.

Hello Rod
How did your round go.
I set off at 9.00p.m on Friday and had an amazing day. We got mist on the first three tops and it was misty along the dodds but just as day was breaking all the clouds dissapeared and we had a perfect day finishing at 7.40p.m

Re: 20 hr BG attempt 25 July
Well done Alcumbria.
Perfect timing with the weather - lashing rain today.

Hi Al, Congratulations! Saw your lights bobbing down hall's fell and was going to come out and say hi but was trying to get a few hours shut eye in the car before Rods round.
Rod was doing very well on leg 1 and 2 and pretty much on schedule. Strong finish to leg 2 but I think he stopped near Wasdale? Bad luck Rod, great day out and happy to help for 43;)

Sunny at Peterborough :p but a bit flat, arguably.
22:40 sounds good to me too Alcumbria.
Bad luck Rod.

Re: 20 hr BG attempt 25 July
Rod was going well over leg 2, and looked strong as he left Dumail, big shame that the wheels fell of at Scafell. Well run Rod, as Anthony said happy to help with 43;)

Re: 20 hr BG attempt 25 July
Hi
Thanks for the update.
Sorry it didn't work out Rod. I texted you (although knowing you would be running so didn't expect a reply) as was struggling to get over to Honistor. Hopefully you'll give it another go sometime!

Re: 20 hr BG attempt 25 July
Just to say thanks to all who volunteered. We had a great day - I certainly can't blame the weather this time. I did fall apart quite amazingly and suddenly on Scafell. Not even the emergency honey sachet could fix it. I need a few more mountain miles to prepare for this. I'll be back.....Rod
