Care to Join Me: Peak Edition
On Weds I'm in Derby until about lunchtime then I'll be taking a slow drive back, and possibly looking to get a 2hr-or-so run in, somewhere in the Peaks.
If I get no offers I'll probably do the route I know round Dovedale, up Thorpe Cloud and surrounding area.
However, if anyone's free and fancies a trot round the Peaks, let me know. Fairly flexible as to where, so give us a shout.:)

I might be up for something SS
it'll have to be a bit further north though as I'll have to pick daughter up from School 4.30.
I'll let you know tuesday if nothing else comes up.
Re: Care to Join Me: Peak Edit
Hey IDP,
It'll be on my way home to Nelson, so bit further north would suit me anyway. Let me know if you wanna meet up.

Well b8gger me! I'm just in the middle of PMing you!!
But basically yes, still interested. I can go anyway home I like, so not a problem. I'll look up Cutthroat Bridge. What with that and Snake's pass, sounds like we're running through a treasure map!

Good to meet SS this morning and we had a good run today with stunning weather. so clear I swear you could see Scotland:rolleyes: ok maybe not that clear.
Went from Cutthroat bridge along the edge to Cartledge rocks down Abbey brook to the sheepfold clough where we discovered vandalism of the highest order the NT(I presume) have driven a digger up from Ladybowyer and bulldozed a new path:eek::mad: the once grassy path I loved to run on is now veritable motorway.
Any way moving on we ran to the bottom of Abbey Brook and up Abbey bank to little Pike low where we dropped down to the Pack horse bridge and straight up the other side before arriving at Hurkling stones and the mad drop back to the car.
12 miles 2,500ft ish I'm sure SS will have better figures

Right, first thing's first, now I'm beginning to feel like meself: very many thanks to IDP for his company and showing me round his back yard. A wonderful part of the world and we had some lovely weather for it.
Garmin reckons 2,600ft, but corrected on Sporttracks it's 2,169ft. 11.98mi anyway.
We started talking about eating whilst running and I said unless it's over 3 hours, I don't tend to bother. 5mins later...died on me feet. I just felt the energy drain from me. Sorry if I held you back any, Ian. :o Luckily this was only 20-30mins before the end. Was dreaming of my honey sandwiches back at the car!
Anyway, great lesson to learn. Going to start getting used to snacking from about 30mins in and every 15mins thereafter. If nothing else, as you said Ian, it'll be good practice for the ultras I've got on my list.
Will look to get over this way more I think. Some of the routes you were pointing out sounded great.
Thanks again for your own particular brand of hospitality! ;):D
