All the races are in the south
I've got February half-term free, because the mad woman I met in the church that time is taking the children on holiday.
Aha, I think, time to find some proper fell races.
Check the calendar, where all the longish races on those two weekends? Bloody Somerset and Devon.
Arse.

Kendal Winter League races...?
(Mind I'd grant you'd have to run 2-3 times to get a long run...but they're fast and competitive and completely off road/on-fell)

why dont you get a flight yourself and go jogging round mallorca? its very hilly. and you can get a book to keep you company.
Re: All the races are in the s
There's an LDWA event from Rivington Pike on sat Feb 10th. Or one on Feb 18th around Parbold Hill. I haven't done either of them so don't know what they're like. PM if you want any more details.

night out of course!
we went to ilkley moor yesterday do you know - i've hardly ever been there, just for a couple of races where you see very little but i was so impressed, ok the other in my party (mentioning no names) seems to have a new injury so we couldnt run but we walked to a few stones, tramped through heather, leapt over streams hopped over bogs, wrapped ourselves up against the blizzard you could see working its way down wharfdale, examined some cup and rings marks and an ancient enclosure. was seriously impressed with my offroad wellies!

I think I will do ilkely - as I did it last year and it would be nice to see if a year's efforts of running miles up and down hills has actually made a difference. I really enjoyed yesterday just running about in circles and stopping and looking at things, and out running today I saw a red kite really close so I stopped for a while and watched it glide and i suppose I am just going off racing a bit - it doesnt help that I have no ambition of winning either (or success).
