Hi suggestions please for the most active & social Fell Running Club, accessible from Lancaster/ Forest of Bowland area.
Dallam!
We're a friendly bunch, with a good mix of abilities and interests.

And we've a race this coming Tuesday 3rd - 20 Barriers. off road fell/trail about 5 miles from Carnforth High school, North Lancs, as the name suggests there are 20 barriers [stiles, fences etc] to negotiate.
Hope to see you there?
Obviously I would suggest a club a bit further north, near the Howgill area... but Dallam have always seemed like a darn good bunch of chaps and chapesses too, and a bit nearer Lancaster too.
Hope to be at 20 Barriers on Tuesday too, but coming straight from work and that hasn't worked well before. Ah well.
What a bizarre question.....

However, we don't really need to actively recruit members so won't be upset if you join one of the lesser NW fellrunning clubs - like Clayton for instance...
Vics, thank you for your reply, we haven't moved yet so won't be able to get to the 20 Barriers but I will look out for the Dallam vests at my next fell race and say hi.
Fellhound, it is a daft question but I have spent a quite few weekends recently looking at houses in rather a big area from Kendal to Preston and east of the M6, one of the house must haves is to be close to a good friendly and active fell running club so I need a bit of help in finding out where and when the club training nights are and how often pubs nights happen :) ............as for what my prospective new home looks like that doesn't really matter to me!
PS Fellhound, now that I have seen the Bowland website, I recognise the club vest, seen plenty at fell races.........usually behind me :) :)
Definitely got to be Dallam
