Sowerby Scorcher multi-terrain
Not much on the fell calender locally (ish) next weekend so spotted this. Any Calderdale members know owt about it??
Re: Sowerby Scorcher multi-ter
I was going to ask the same question, for the same reason. You beat me to it.

By over four days. Which is even worse than my normal race-losing margins.
Re: Sowerby Scorcher multi-ter
I am now up at Buttermere on Saturday so will give this 'low profile' race a miss - sounds like a bit too much tarmac anyway!!
Re: Sowerby Scorcher multi-ter
Yes, there was a lot of tarmac, but it was one of the most scenic tarmac-based races I've ever done! No chance of anyone getting a 10k pb on it either; the winning time last year was only a second inside 44 minutes!
The route went from Sowerby Towngate>Steep Lane>Moor Bottom> Water Stalls> left over stile opp. Catherine House track (Calderdale Way leg 1)> Cottonstones> Otter Lee> Sowerby. Probably about 65% road, 30% stony track, 5% footpath.
The race had a friendly, 'fell-race feel' to it though, with smiley marshals and plenty of tea and home made cake at the end. And it did what it said on the tin - phew, it was a real Scorcher.

Well done Tussock Face. How many did it? Going to save myself for the Austwick Amble I think, got a good tan yesterday up near Buttermere and again on the bike this morning - long may this lovely weather continue!
Re: Sowerby Scorcher multi-ter
More than last year, I think, with dozens of Stainland Lions!
I'll let you know more accurately when the results are up.
I bet Buttermere was stunning.
Re: Sowerby Scorcher multi-ter
151 runners.
But the results are wrong; they have me down with someone else's number and it's cost me 18 places!
My own number doesn't appear, so maybe there were 152 taking part.
