Grab the opportunity this year. Next year it'll be a night race for £40.

I know relatively little about the peaks...
But it does seem that its an area where a good deal of traditional fell races seem to be suffering from ever-tightening access restrictions... yet a huge amount of new races (usually with hefty entry fees) are cropping up in their place.
I do like that route. I think I'll keep running round that area in my own time though and save myself £20.
Looking at their website this will be their first 'fell' race (having put on quite a few trail events), so I guess they have a market of trail runners to whom this probably seems like a reasonable price. Fair play to them I suppose if they're operating as a business.
In terms of value, I don't think you can beat the Saunders. £65 for two days of quality racing in parts of the Lakes other races don't reach, and a picturesque overnight camp. Plus, for a couple of quid you can have a can of Guinness with your noodles.
