I keep clicking on the football thread to see if somebody has posted something interesting on there and its just full of this garbage.
Man Utd are just wonderful, you've won lots of trophies. We get it. Is it possible we can change the subject now?

:)
Man Utd = corporate brand, good manager, insufferably arrogant, bought success in the 1990s.
Man City = perennial underachievers, series of crap managers, chip on their shoulders, about to try and buy success.
Not much more to say from my POV.

OK.
Fashion clearly has a bearing on a team's success in major tournaments. Argentina wore almost rudely short shorts and won two world cups, Italy brought us those daft tight tops and then won the world cup.
England should be the first team to play in fish-net socks. Discuss.

Aren't you the serious one! It's called banter and football wouldn't be the same without it. I can't speak for Danbert but I'd happily go for a pint with him and talk football; we wouldn't agree on much but there's nothing wrong with a bit of harmless ribbing (that's what I was doing rather than say how wonderful Utd are).
You need to chill out a little.

That's more like it.

Oh I enjoy quick witted banter as much as the next football fan. Just not noticed much of it.
Now where did I put those chill pills.

Care to explain your reasoning behind this?
Schmeichel - ~ £850,000
Cantona - £1.2m
Irwin - £625,000
Bruce - £800,000
Pallister - £2.3m
Keane - £3.75m
Cole - £7.0m
G Neville - Free
P Neville - Free
Scholes - Free
Beckham - Free
Sharpe - Free
Giggs - Free
Butt - Free
Brown - Free
Considering the above players formed the backbone of the team for most of the 90s, that's hardly excessive is it? Cole and Keane were British records but when you've hardly spent anything anything on the rest of the team, is that not allowed?
Have a look here:
http://transferleague.co.uk/
Since the inception of the Premier League United's net transfer spend is 6th of the current clubs, below Aston Villa, Tottenham, Liverpool, Man City and Chelsea.
