Yes you've won it, well done but it's the bigger picture I like. We now have the measure of you head to head, I no longer feel afraid to play you because I know we can beat you.
You got a class act in Van Persie and ultimately it's his goals that have won you the league, where-as our forwards have been quite poor, or sold or out injured. If we get a proper goal getter in the summer, we'll be back, because man for man i genuinely believe we are the better team. We are 20 odd goals off last season and that's why we aren't champions again. A good summer and watch the blue lion roar again !:p
Starting IX I think you are stronger..
But you also make a good point re the forwads.. RVP's impact was huge but made even more so as your forwards just have not been on form.. 12 goals I think is your leading scorer.. they've all got 8-12 goals..
But we've had some huge seasons from Rio and Carrick in particular, but also in De Gea we now have a quality keeper and teams know that so they aren't looking to target him as much.. whilst I still rate Hart him and Kompany weren't as good this year, Hart especially just didn't quite seem happy, some great games but looked edgier this year.
Well done Man United. Great goal by van Persie as part of his hat-trick last night as well. IMHO I don't believe they would have won the title without van Persie so you have to give a lot of credit to Alex Ferguson for bringing him to the club.
City last year were 6 points better off.. they've dropped too many points. United have had a good season but last season was exceptional in how many points we both got.. quite rare that two teams have such good form.
Last year we had 82 points after 34 games.. this season 84.. we've scored less goals this season..
I think we'd have won regardless, but thats also why we paid 24 million for a 28 year old and maybe he helped deflate cities season.
I'm not sure City's starting 11 are stronger.
It might seem a strange thing to say, especially with Utd winning the league so early by such a big margin, but Utd are in transition and I'm not sure that Fergie knows his best team at the moment - I certainly don't.
Just to explain, most would have Ferdinand and Vidic as the centre back pairing, but arguably now Jones / Evans is better.
His team on paper against City last time looked decent, but Young started and he hasn't been as effective of late, whilst Valencia was on the bench. Also Giggs started, and as "good for age" as he is, I think he is found wanting sometimes in the bigger games these days and Kigawa or Cleverley may have been better to have in the starting line up.
From City's perspective, the starting 11 from Old Trafford were the best 11 except Aguero should always start in my opinion, instead of Nasri. Having said that. the selection of Nasri probably helped them in terms of possession and gave them a higher level of control with perhaps less threat.
Anyway, overall it's been a disappointing season in my view. I have been less interested in football than ever before. Our teams haven't performed well in Europe and there just seems to be something lacking.
This Utd team doesn't rank among the best although it's clearly pretty good, Arsenal and Chelsea have been below par and lacked quality and City just seem to have gone back in to a shell when I would have expected them to really try and play like Champions.
I hope next season is better, but I feel Utd may do similar again. This team will get better, he has options and he's only a top midfield signing away from taking them up a notch.
City - well subject to the FA Cup they may well have to rebuild, Chelsea need defence and attack sorting out, Arsenal almost need a new squad.
I can see Spurs being the main threat next year if they keep their players and add a little.
I'm not sure.. I just can't see anyone other than MU or MC.. I'd be surprised if any other teams wins it in the next 2 seasons.
Chelsea have been out of the picture for a few years now.. they need major investment, Arsenal similar.
Spurs.. I just think they are still not good enough.
I find it amusing that the bitters are putting this title solely down to RVP when they are so reliant on one person (Yaya Toure) themselves.
Main strength is the bloke who picks the team.
I don't get it myself..
The manager is a deluded alcoholic..
The star men are Rooney and RVP.. Rooneys fat and over rated.. RVP over rated.. up front Welbeck can't small and hernandez is too weak
The midfieldders Carrick only passes sideways.. can't tackle.. Anderson is fat.. Scholes and Giggs too old.. Cleverly still unproven
At the back Smalling isn't up to standard, Rio has lost his legs, Jones is just not the great hope, Evans is just not good enough, Vidic just fouls
On the wing we have Nani who just does tricks, valencia who can't cross and young who again is over rated...
The full backs are poor defenders who attack too much..
It must be the refs.. after game 1 we had 25 wins in 29 games thanks to refs...13 titles in 20 years bought.. yet those players we spent the money on are supposedly not good enough..
I'm just going to throw it out there.. that maybe in Ferguson we trust.. when the likes of the General were questioning SAF back in the autumn it was a disgrace. He's no fool, no room for sentiment and rarely makes a bad buy and when he does he realises and they go..
To win it in a boring season, home to Villa on a monday night....must be ok i guess.
But to win it like this....

Mourinho about to confirm his departure from Madrid and ITV cut him off.:o
"Laters Jose, we have Kit-Kats to advertise"
We shall have to prepare ourselves for a few choruses of "Football's coming home" at Wembley on the 25th May. Hopefully the game should be a cracker
That ONE pint I owe you Tupster.
level on points but the Rams did me on goal diff.
Well done Sir
Good result for Rafa and Chelsea. They have Spurs/Benfica/Everton coming up so no pressure  No real chance of second place though considering the Man City fixtures even including City's own cup final.

Newcastle are going down !
I think it was a red. It was violent play, the ball was gone.
But the FA should respond to Luiz's play acting. They won't.
But its like the Rivaldo and the ball in the face incident. Just pathetic. These things won't stop until the FA take action when they see blatant play acting.
Its tough for United now, we should have just sent all the first team on an early holiday, put the kids in and see how they develop, but we do have to be fair to the rest of the league.
Look at West Brom? teams like that who have nothing to play for, and United, can really affect the final top 4 and who goes down...
There were united fans slating Baconface on 606 last night, they were even still harping on about his poor team selection at the etihad last season. Oh how last year still hurts ;)
Uniteds season has petered out, even though they've won the league, yesterday's performance and defeat has left a number of them confused. They're so used to winning the league, it doesn't mean as much, especially with 4 games to go, against a very poor villa, it's just not doing it for them, and of course they can't help but remember how we won it, and how they lost it last season.
It still hurts badly ;)
At least we still have a big day out to look forward too.
'even though they've won the league'...
Brilliant! :-)
Personally I'd take winning the league at a canter and no cup than a cup final and second...
They aren't confused at all. They;ve won the league, it just takes the edge of your game.
Big point for Sunderland last night.. losing that would have been serious. If Wigan win tonight that drags everyone back into it..
A huge game... lose and it could be them... even a point will keep the others involved, but a win drags all the bottom 10 back into it.. crazy league this year..
Huge night.. Newcastle dropped into the bottom 3 periodically but Wigan throw it all away.. now an uphill battle..
A huge huge game to go with Villa.. can't see a result at the emirates.. must be the tighest finish ever..
But if arsenal beat them.. (likely.. aresenal hugely need the win) Sunderland and Saints draw.. Norwich draw or beat West Brom (who have nout to play for) and Newcastle draw or beat QPR (who are already relegated).. they are relegated.. quite likely it could all be over by then..
Well, he is going!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yeh, I just saw that.
