Bacon-face is losing his subtlety with his bullshitting nowadays Ian.
If Liverpool is his biggest game of the season, then why were Nani, Rooney and Anderson all on the bench? I guarantee you they won't be next week.
I’d love it if Hargreaves scored the winner next week.

Re: Tonight's football thread
There will be a few forumites smiling tonight and a few who won't!
I thought Milner was superb today and put them in the position they could go on and win. Thought united were better in the first half but city exploited well the sending off of Evans.

Any statisticians out there? Just wondered the last time anyone scored 13 goals (or more) over a 5 match period in the 4 divisions (including internationals and European/FA Cup/League Cup)

13 goals in 5 matches? not sure what you're referring to here...
City have scored 20 goals in their last 5 away league games though - I suspect that must be some sort of record

Not sure what you mean Gordon - City have scored 16 in the last 4 games.

Re: Tonight's football thread
I wondered how long it would take for you to be back on this thread Danbert.
I was actually at Old Trafford myself today. Many forumites may know my own football affiliations (supporting the Whites in case you don't) but I was invited on a corporate do by one of our suppliers. Given the champaigne reception, three course meal and free bar I felt it would be churlish of me to refuse. Interestingly, they did indeed provide prawn sandwiches at half time.
What an extraordinary game. The first 20 minutes Man City barely had a kick and to be honest I was quite impressed with the atmosphere. But thereafter I thought Man City were fantastic and they certainly have the look of champions. We'll see....

You were a lucky man. I think you witnessed history in the making. In years to come this game will be remembered and named something like;
The Demolition Derby
The Old Trafford Tragedy
The Beginning of the End
The day the balance of the power turned blue
The Slaughter at the Swamp
The Octoberfest
The Ballotelli's Blitz

There is a silver lining for United fans. If they turn their '19' scarves upside down they will make an ideal Christams present for any City supporting relatives

Spent along day on the hill in Wales today, on returning to the car I thought Christmas had come early, We stopped off at the services at Chester we were talking about poorly birds flying over OT, yes the sick swan joke came out and there were many people there grining and the odd one that looked a little upset. LMFAO!
There will be a lot of upset fans in London tonight.....and I'm not talking Chelsea, Fergie has some serious thinking to do now.

Dreary me...(in the words of Fergs) he has no thinking to do...
bang that team out and you'll see a response, like we did after the numerous other humpings against Newcastle, Saints, Liverpool, Chelsea, City and others...
United lose badly a fair bit really, we always go for it, we are so open that occasionally we get pumped..
But Balotelli is class.. that T-shirt... you've got to love his attitude its brilliant...
My parents were there, are every week, I spoke to my mother and a stream of swear words came out, she wasn't happy. We're Chelsea born and bred of course..you can tell by my southern accent..
Well done City though, its catch up time now but we've had a hard start so overall things aren't too bad.

Re: Tonight's football thread
Chelsea 3 Arsenal 5!
Great game:cool: Thrills and spills, dodgy defending, cracking goals with Van Persie's last one very reminiscent of Geoff Hurst's last goal in the '66 World cup final!
