For people who think the burden on services must be reduced, why are Derbyshire police making extra work for themselves? Is it because they aren’t essential?
Since most bike accidents are caused by agressive motorists biking is safe.

Stay safe all
Honister pass is an exception to any rule. Most of us are unable to get to a dangerous descent from where we live, even if we tried! . There are always those trying to get a Darwin Award
Meanwhile for most of us biking IS safer. I gave up road biking three years ago because of traffic and motoring idiots. It is far better now, and one of the few options open.
I will wager bike accident stats are substantially down.
On average. Some will have a heart attack whilst out walking from home. Should we ban walking too?
Natural selection.
Don't forget some of the exercise community are freaks too.
A little and often is the way forward.
[QUOTE=Witton Park;659011]Derbyshire seem to be at the forefront of taking the Government guidance and seeking to tighten it.
It does not include lycra-clad leisure cycling on the now quieter roads.
I wonder what Derbyshire Police Road Policing Unit would like me to wear on my PDE astride my bike. If or when I get pulled I'll ask them and let you know.
Is a 1 hour run AM followed by a 2.5hr walk PM yesterday
Then a 20mile almost 6hr run today acceptable??
This is the type of people we are dealing with.
I don't think it is in the spirit of government guidance at this time no matter what area or district was covered.
9.3 mile, 1150 ft, 2:55 walk with Mrs WP - biting wind at times
I went for a cycle ride today (less than 2 hours). When I got back, my wife (who hadn't been out all day) asked me to go for a walk with her, which I did. It was only about 30 minutes, but should I still hand myself in to the Exercise Police, for doing more than one form of exercise in a day?
