If you are lucky you can see them on the coast between Aberystwyth and Borth or on the grassy slopes out of Aberdyfi towards the cemetery.

I was lucky nearly 4 years ago. Whilst visiting my mother in Bronglais Hospital I caught a train to Borth and came back to Aberystwyth via the coastal path. Half a dozen of them perched on fence posts less than 50 yds away.
The only other place I've seen them is on Anglesey.
First swallows of the year at Porth Melgan (my favorite beach), by St Davids Head, and then north on our holiday to Mid Wales. Checked out the Osprey at Clywedog Reservoir - both have returned hopefully for another successful years breeding. Today on a walk with friends near Pennal, Near Aberdyffi spotted a pair of very amourous Goldcrests in the hedge.
A very red wildlife day in the Elan Valley yesterday. A red pole , a couple of red starts and more red kites than you can shake a stick at.
I reckon you would have spotted a Redpoll too Pete! ;)
First house martin of the year here today. I was on holiday in Spain last week and saw my first ever hawfinch while walking near to the city of Ronda - very characteristic with its massive powerful bill.
Yesterday morning saw my first Swallows of the year. Seventeen days later than last year.
Yesterday morning I heard the first Cuckoo and saw three big feral goats whilst walking down from Y Lliwedd to Nant Gwynant, Snowdonia.
Nice. Hope to hear one around Devils Bridge at the end of the month.
A weasel today! It stopped and looked at us as it crossed the path. We were going from Leathley to look at the fabulous bluebells in Riffa woods. It always surprises me how small weasels are.
