Is the idea that you finish one and go onto the other..?
I imagine I'm missing something obvious, but can't work out what.
Thanks a lot:)
One is just longer and harder, it gives you a choice of routes like a few other events, take your pick?
Mind you to do both back to back would make a fine outing
Re: TWA & Anniversary Walz
Oh I see. Thanks a lot. That makes sense.
Cheers.

Teenager entry nearly full......
Re: TWA & Anniversary Walz
Right on the website the map suggests the best way off Whiteless is essentially a straight line upto Newlands Hause...what is the going like?
On my marking of my map I decided to take a route of 102 degrees down to the sheepfold at the stream junctions and then a long steady ascent from there of 166 degrees to Newlands hause...the issue with this is that the route from the sheepfold is according to the map a marshy route. However the descent looks a bit more runnable.

Best choice: Bleak Rigg, down the ridge (steep) at about 120 deg then turning to 140 deg to cross stream.
Second choice: Witeless Breast.

Re: Teenager with Altitude
Quick Q re the route right at the start - when I reccied it I went up the steady path on the north side of Causey Pike which joins the ridge a little before the steep climb to the summit. Speaking to Moorlander, who I reccied most of the route with on Saturday, it seems that the race route might be straight up to the eastern end of the ridge (Rowling End I think it's called), then a level run along to where I joined the ridge. Is this right? If there is a choice I reckon I'd stick to the steadier path (depending on where exactly the start is, obviously).

The route goes straight to Causey Pike or more correctly to the hause below Causey Pike. The start, if I remember correctly, was by the yellow sign in the second photo. Off the road, above the blue car. 2010 race report
