    Winter camping in the lakes

Can anyone recommend a good campsite in the lakes thats open during winter, pretty sure the ones I normally camp at aren't open all year.

    Cheers

Yeah, the one at Braithwaite is top class mate.

Reasonable price, 5 star facilities, cafe and shop, plus 2 cracking pubs in the village

Its on your left as you enter the village.

I'm sure many others will confirm how good it is!

Stayed for a week at the Scotgate site a couple of weeks back. Had the site to ourselves. The shop didn't open though. The campsite in Buttermere is closed.

if you use a white tent i reckon you could camp anywhere you wanted
just remember where your tent is if you go off somewhere

Another thumbs up for Scotsgate. The new amenities block is certainly an improvement on the previous ones. Free showers as well which is a bonus.

And if the shop\cafe is shut then you are not far from Keswick if you need to go and stock up on supplies etc.
