    Thorn; Touring & Audax Frames

Anyone had personal experience of Thorn Touring ( 700c ) or Audax cycle frames, either the TIG welded / off the peg models from Taiwan or the brazed / 'hand built in Somerset' models?

A friend of mine had a Thorn Brevet. He didn't really get on with it. The ride was a bit "dead". In fact just earlier he was telling me there was a bit of a hoo-ha going off with CTC and Thorn. A CTC review basically slagged of one of their bikes, good and proper.
Personally I'd buy a vintage handbuilt 531 frame.
The same friend has a few choice frames for sale. If you were interested. Depending on your size of course.

Cheers Mark. Size is the issue? So many formulae are given on various websites as to what you need to measure and how you manipulate the measurements to arrive at one's ideal frame design. I've always 'made do' with 2nd hand frames in the past, from 23.5" to 21". Was hoping to get measured up professionally as part of the purchase process.
