NO....its well unfair because we make the effort to run in a club that someone can just rock up, do shit and get a mediocre position and get a prize whilst u/18s and juniors often dont get prizes at senior races

I know what you mean, and good idea in theory (training with club-mates is a form of cheating in my book )

but unworkable in practice for SO many reasons
e.g. what if a group of otherwise unattached runners met up regularly to train together (sort of like being in a club) - would they still be "unattached"?
Scramble the rock face through the glare of morning sun — to run

I think you'll find plenty of unattached runners do better than 'sh*t' Tom- I've just had a scan at the results of Nine Standards as an example (first U/A was 3rd overall and second 6th overall) - not to mention MrB being only 3rd UA at Giants Tooth - did he do 'sh*t'?

Your point about u/18 & junior prizes is totally valid but a separate issue to my mind.

Just checked results - definitely 3rd (see also 13th & 15th overall) and I know the runner behind him had a good race and thoroughly deserved his prize for 2nd Junior
